Huh... there seems to be some dialogue that's not in the game, mainly some exposition on the Transport Turtles.

0:00 Eventually I would find a use for these turtles,
0:03 but at the time I had no way to communicate with them.

0:00 I found that I could communicate with the turtle in Beast Form.
0:04 He told me a sad tale of his lost brothers, who had been separated by Aquaria's wars.
0:09 In exchange for finding the lost kin,
0:12 they would provide me with transportation between the regions of Aquaria.

The dialogue sort of assumes you'll only find one turtle before getting Beast Form and then head back to the same turtle to talk to it without finding any other turtles. The dialogue doesn't make sense if you've already found more than one turtle. Is that why it was taken out?

I have nothing to add to this thread except to say this is a great find! I read pretty much everything posted but never reply unless I feel it's contributing in some fashion. not that I am here, but I can totally here Jenna's voiceover and a bunch of neat watercolour stills of the turtle's tales  :)
Ellie: Are they from the future too?
Sawyer: You told her?

Afaik the subs won't be part of 1.1. Right, Alec?

No, I haven't been able to come up with a good way for them to work yet.
:'(
Any chance to get the subs working in the upcoming 1.1.2 patch?

And what about the new string and bank files for the 1.1.1?
We have just 2 completed Italian translation (and many in several languages) and no language mod...  :'(

Hope you will get through this soon, Alec.
Thanks anyway for all your efforts.

I talked to him today and it is a  question of how hard it is to add unicode font support.

The question now is, how able/willingly Alec is to put the attempt to answer this question on his already overfilled todo-list. ;)

The answer depends on how much Alec (Bit-Blot) wants to boost up internetional sales for non english users... I think.

Subtitles aren't implemented yet. You can't use them with the actual version.

Subtitles can actually be implemented in Version 1.1.1, seeing everything is open source, at least it is with windows.
The subtitles are in the folder
\Aquaria\scripts\vox

Just replace all text files with your translated files.

I myself had everything translated to Dutch, but seeing the hard crash of my Hard Drive, I lost everything to a backup where I only had translated about 15 files.

I believe I send them to someone else on here, but I am not sure... And it's not like that person has kept it.

So that means I'm going to translate stuff again. Yay!
God sees and knows everything, but at least he won't gossip about it.

Just replace all text files with your translated files.
It's the same on the Mac side- just right-click (or control-click) on the application, select "Show Package Contents" from the menu that appears, and the subtitles are in the Contents/Resources/scripts/vox (and Contents/Resources/data, for stringbank.txt and the help files) folders.  The only problem is that any accented or otherwise non-American-English characters will not show up at all in-game (at least in my quick testing).

I thoug it was common knowledge... just replacing the original files... but of course, internationnal characters are an issues (french's accute, spanish and so on).

The thing is, if there is an update, be sure that you still keep the translated file somewhere else: they may get overwrite in the update.

Well, it makes sense that it is working now, that all is open and editable, I just haven't thought about it since 1.1 came out.

I guess besides characters like é, ä, ß the different length of the sentences may be an issue too, right? Especially if a translated sentence is about twice as long as the original one.
