sweet been waiting on an android port for a few years. put a lot of hours into aquaria on steam and have been wanting to play it on my android devices ;)
The devices I have are a SAMSUNG-SGH-I547 and a Samsung GT-P3113 I doubt the rugby pro will have sufficient resolution for aquaria but It will probably work like a dream on the galaxy tab 2 7"

Any further comments about Ouya support? Because I'm thinking about getting one at some point and that would be a sweet starter, as long as it can run mods.
That leads to: How's mod support? There would be some that'd be really nice (Labyrinth, Sacrifice, ...) as long as their authors agree. Just a thought.

I'll leave these for Alec, though I personally think it would be cool to play Aquaria on the Ouya. (:

If the authors are cool with it, it might be neat to include some mods. Which ones would you guys pick?

only just started playing the mods but if I had to pick one based off first impressions Labyrinth or  Sacrifice it's so hard to pick just one.

I would say implement a mod downloader, and a couple of default ones (not the editor tutorial or menu demo, but playable/interesting ones). I vote for Beauty of Aquaria and the jukebox. I'm betting you guys will have to edit some of the scripts so the mods work. Who's going to be doing that?

I already did, all mods that were released (except the costume test one) have updated scripts. See the individual mod topics for details. Feel free to re-use all or parts of the mod downloader code I wrote earlier, if there's the need...

Does the android store have such strict policies as the apple store when it comes to apps downloading user content? Basically apple forbids *everything* that doesn't go through their store.

Labyrinth is fully compatible with both script interfaces (old & new), and my hackfixed version of sacrifice is too (but don't look at how I fixed this one!!1).

the android market place is much more forgiving then the craple one when it comes to stuff like downloading user content.  lots of apps provide dlc etc.

Alec, Andrew:

Just bought a 7 inch tablet, a Window (YuanDao) N70HD (Dual Core Tablet PC 7 Inch IPS Screen RK3066 Android 4.1 1GB RAM 16GB).
So, if you think this model can help with the porting, please add me as well! :)

I absolutely loved Aquaria on PC, but I always felt like this type of game would have been perfect for a portable device, and while googling to see if an Android port existed, stumbled upon this thread.

Well, since I freaking love the game, I would be honored to help with an eventual Android port. I have the Sony Xperia S, which has a 4.3 inches 720p screen, dual core CPU (1.5Ghz), Adreno 220 gpu, and 1Gb of RAM.

I think the game would work well with minimal changes on large phones such as mine, or the Galaxy S3, or the newer 1080p phones such as the Xperia Z.
If I were to adapt a game like this to a phone, I'd use the following controls: move by tapping a point on the screen. In energy form, shooting could be done by tapping an on screen button on the bottom right corner (or maybe by allowing the user to map an hardware button for this, such as the camera or back button), singing by holding your finger on Naija and then drawing the required pattern. Pinch to zoom and dual finger drag to move the camera. Navigating the menus by touch would be pretty easy.

Oh well, not sure if this makes any sense, but if I could help with the port, I'd love to.

I would *love* too if: 1) you are still accepting people and 2) will this work on an android phone or is it for tablet?

Sawyer: You told her?

Do you guys still need testers? I'm not sure if this thread is being updated.

I want to become a tester, but I'm not sure if my poor GP-501s will be able to handle it :(

Interesting question regarding gamepad... For some reason I'm getting keyboard/mouse instructions regarding various controls (save for skip cutscene which is showing properly).  A bit of experimentation and looking in the help got me the controls, but I was wondering if that was going to change at some point.

Running the HIB version on a Galaxy S4 (looks beautiful on that screen :D).

I got this through a humble bundle. Finally playing it, and it's a revelation, as if the game was meant to be touch screen.  It's almost more engaging and I'm not even mad my hand hurt after Mithalis.

Why is this not in the Google Play store? Do you not like money?
