Hey all,
I took the time to make a new demo, as the current one is from 2007 (which, in software terms, is stone-age).
Its not so appealing to have a demo that is far out of date, especially with things like widescreen support missing, which is sort of a must-have nowadays.
Experimental new demo:http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22111385/Aquaria/AquariaDemoNew_02.zipSo here's a bit of tech info:
This build is based on
http://hg.icculus.org/icculus/aquaria/rev/ebd81d4a03a4 .
Like the old demo, it has a all data stored in a compressed & encrypted container file, but this time this was not done using molebox, but my own code. It should also be a lot harder to extract then the molebox container, and i doubt anyone without some reverse engineering skills could break the encryption

So no worries, the datafiles are safe, and can only be used by this specific exe.
I took all files that were in the old demo, and updated them with newer versions (scripts + gfx). Nothing from the full game is included.
You will need a CPU that supports SSE2 (Pentium4 / Athlon64 or newer).
Didn't play it through (lack of time), so i'd like to know from you if it works on your machines, and if there are any glitches or things messed up.-- [edit] -- Played though it about 1.5 times, found no problems.
Will release the code for this as soon as i cleaned it up a bit more (the code is a mess and was done in a hurry) and ironed out more bugs that may possibly occur.
I can also make linux/32 and linux/64 builds of it, but that later, when the code is fixed

MacOSX not, though. Don't have the hardware.
For those wondering: The version number says 1.1.4, as the demo will probably be finalized as soon as a patch for 1.1.4 was released, or something.
Thanks to everyone who ever worked on/contributed to Aquaria, you know who you are!
EDIT: problems with first version solved, uploaded new, updated link.
EDIT: forgot to mark it as played through. still waiting for more feedback, though.
