I don't have a clue how to make a mod standalone, if indeed that is possible. Yogoda has been silent lately... he would have the answers, probably.

Honestly I don't think it's even allowed to make the mod stand-alone. You use the game's graphics and stuff... the game's open sourced, but only by code.
I'm fairly sure Alec won't be hard about it, but it'd still be his decision.
God sees and knows everything, but at least he won't gossip about it.

Hence:
Though what would you do with the original data? It's not as if you can ship those as well.

Well, if the mod can be made standalone, the only thing needed is a program that will import data from the original game into the standalone. Shouldn't be too hard, if someone can make a parsing engine for all of Aquaria's formats and build a dependency tree.

I read your reply just fine this time GMMan, said nothing about it being allowed or being legal. =p

There are so many things I like very much about Aquaria, big ones and small ones. But high on my list is that it is so full of life, green and lush and surprising, even if you are playing for a third time :) And: playing Aquaria makes me think of sushi *g*

I really like the way Li is always looking at Naija, and how Naija does the same if you're facing Li.  Also I really like the walkers.  The guys are just so damn cool.
