It's lovely, best way to describe it I think. I downloaded Knytt at around midnight and finished two hours later, wanting to play it immediately aftwards. At 2:30 I went to bed though, but I think I have finished it about 3 times.

I still have not found all the secrets, only two false walls. I heard there were special upgrades to be found?

I have one item left to find. :'( Its the one in the clouds, I think I have to go the long way 'round...

But man, what a solid, solid game. The controls feel so natural, and the atmosphere is so easy to get absorbed into.

I hear there's secret items, maybe even a secret world?

Did the spiders scare you too? (I ashamed to say, the pink one did)

I think the best parts are when the music kicks in when you've climbed the tower and jump from cloud to cloud, the creepy world with the man coming out of the house and the part with the broken bridge.
I love it when you encounter these characters who do not speak at all. I believe that's the best thing the developer could have done, after all you're from another planet, how are you going to commuicate? Instead they just let you be and mind their own business, adding to the great stranded on a strange planet and just discovering all these wonderful locations feeling. So very nice.

Don't know about a secret world, but there could be hidden unlockables like mini games. Don't know if that is in this game or WADF.

Even though it was just a circle with lines, the black spider scared me. I think its cause, even the movement was simple, it really captured the feel of a spider somehow.

I've been quite hooked on "N" for a while:

You play a ninja trying to make its way through various rooms full of dangerous robots, puzzles, traps, and quite importantly, gold. There is no way to fight the robots, running and evading is your only chance to survive. The goal of each level is to open an exit door by touching an exit door switch, and then make your way through the door. The game is seperated in episodes of 5 levels each, with a starting time of 90 seconds for every episode. Picking up gold gives you extra time, so it's often worth to go for it even if it's dangerous.

There are 100 Episodes in the game (yes, thats 500 levels), so you won't run out of challenges soon. And even if you beat 'em all, there is a huge community map site called Numa (the N user map archive) with tons of new ones...

Good lord! It had to happen some time I guess...
Seriously, N is addictive and insanely frustrating! You can spend hours on an episode just trying to pass one of the levels. And if you have to leave or close your computer before finishing the entire episode (5 levels) then it's back to square [insert number of episodes completed here]. Yet for some reason you will always come back for more.

I'd be down to try it, but it looks a lot like Lode Runner.  I was freaking addicted to those back in the day... don't know if I need to start that again.   :o

Oh my gawd! i forgot about gish! *bashes head to the wall*

Gish isn't your average hero, in fact he's not your average anything... see Gish is a ball of tar. A Sunday stroll with his lady friend Brea goes awry when a shadowy figure emerges from an open man hole and pulls Brea into the ground below. Following Brea's calls for help Gish suddenly finds himself in the subterranean sewers of Dross, a long forgotten city filled with twisting corridors, evil traps and some of the most demented creatures imaginable.

With his gelatinous structure as his only means of defense Gish must follow the echoing cries of his damsel in distress deep into the earth below. What freakish creatures dwell in this subterranean land? Who is Brea's captor? And just how far down does the rabbit hole go?

Life isn't easy when you're a 12 pound ball of tar...

This is a indie game that hit the jackpot, which is the future i see in aquaria too.

The game simulates fluid physics extraordinarily well. Gish has three "modes" you can activate by holding down a single button.

Sticky: Stick to any non-slippery surface. Scale walls, cross ceilings or if you want, hold on to a bad guys head so he cant hit you.

Slick: Makes you extra liquid-y, enabling you to go through tight spaces and corridors.

Heavy: You guessed it. Mainly used for crushing objects and enemies.

But the brilliance does not end there. You can activate TWO modes at a time, which opens a load of new possibilities.

The atmosphere of the game is pretty morbid and depressing, which i find odd, because the hero is pretty humorous.

Just grab a demo from here: http://www.chroniclogic.com/gish_download.htm

I'll have to chime in and suggest La Mulana, a sprawling sidescrolling adventure, which can be both brutally difficult, yet immensely satisfying.  Tons of puzzles and traps abound, along with all sorts of goodies.  I'd be seriously surprised if anyone actually made it completely through the game without resorting to some sort of guide at least once.

It's rather difficult at the start, but it gets a bit easier when you get some health upgrades and the Grail so you can teleport out in a sticky situation, and teleport back, once you've read certain tablets. (thankfully found in the first 'zone' of the ruins, if you can find it - do so, asap)

The graphics were done completely retro, in the style of an MSX game.  And one of your most important items, is your handy MSX computer.   Now, with your trusty whip, journey into the ruins of La Mulana.

Screenshots, game, and translation patch available here:   http://agtp.romhack.net/project.php?id=lamulana

Give it a shot - oh, and it's a good idea to read the manual before you play.  It helps.  There's also a clue for one of the puzzles on one of the last pages, although you'd not know it when you originally read the manual.

Oh, and unless you have a *really* good memory or don't mind backtracking looking for clues you forgot, taking notes can be helpful.  Although, sometimes you'll solve a certain puzzle, and you might not need a certain clue because of it.  Getting the horn from outside the ruins will let you know when you've solved a puzzle as well - more helpful than you might think, since a puzzle on one screen might change something multiple screens away.

And, starting advice - first things first, get money to get the Game Master cartridge, to be able to save your game at the village elder, and a hand scanner.   Break pots on the surface to find some money, but the money in those pots doesn't respawn - and it'll take too long to get money from the enemies - it's best to head into the ruins once you've gotten all the money available on the surface.  Money and items in pots inside the ruins will respawn when you load your saved game, and each pot always has the same thing in it, be it money, weights, or weapon ammo.   The Glyph Reader is important to get as well.

And a heads up - there's two puzzles in particular that won't reset when you leave the room, both for whip upgrades.  If you mess it up, you'll never be able to get those weapons.  One is in the lava caverns area, the room on the far left of the map.  The other is in the room with the giant set of scales.  When you come across that room, you may want to teleport back and save first, before attempting it, as the room closes off after you enter the room.  As far as I know of, there's no way to reset either of these two rooms, and the stronger whips are handy to have.  Speaking of handy - remember that the whip strikes above you when you swing it as well.

Ok, Ok, I'll shut up now - the exploration and discovery is half the fun.
