Finished Aquaria last night... what a spectacular game! Hungry for more, and I'll try the sacrifice mod next!

I kept thinking of another free indie game as I played: Cave Story. Like Aquaria or Metroid it is "one huge level", and features outstanding art and music direction (though in a very different style). Cave Story was made by one dedicated/brilliant artist, so there's another similarity with Aquaria. Check it out here: http://www.miraigamer.net/cavestory/

How about you? Do any other great but unknown games come to mind when you play Aquaria?

Great but unknown? Nothing immediately springs to mind, but if you haven't yet played Castlevania: Lament of Innocence you should go do that. It's kind of an outstanding entry in the genre, such that almost every Castlevania game since has been a straight-up clone of it.

There's already a forum about presenting these kind of (awesome) games, it'd be nice if this were locked.
God sees and knows everything, but at least he won't gossip about it.

Not necessary, Cave Story has been mentioned in it many times.
