[forum avatar] upload not permitted
«

Hi, I am new here and wanted to upload my own avatar picture.
When trying to upload it from a local file I get "The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved."
Is there any way that could be fixed?

Try changing the file name or try another file and see if that does work, cause I was able to upload my own Avatar.
Also mind that is has to be 100 by 100 and a valid image file.

Thanks.
I resized it to 100x100, name was okay, it is a jpeg. Still it does not work.

You could try changing it into a PNG, as in saving it as png, not renaming.
Try that, I don't know further though.
You could always host it somewhere.

Or you could just open up a photobucket account or something. That's what I did.

Thanks for the workarounds. PNG did not work either and creating a photobucket account is too much trouble for an avatar icon.
The purpose of my post is to point out a possible forum bug to the admin. Setting the proper rights to the upload folder could solve the problem.
