Ghost fish? (SPOILERS)
« on: January 03, 2008, 11:22:09 pm »
Alright, I just got to the pre-boss save chamber in the body, (I assume that's what it is,) and I'm taking a break to go back and explore every last thing before I try beating the game.  I  don't like ruining things for myself, but I have to ask about something:

I was down in the dark and murky depths somewhere, and I sang open a plant, and instead of an item popping, it instead had an image that looked a bit like the ghostly fish floating at the top of its stalk.  There were a couple of them swimming around there, but I couldn't seem to get any reaction to occur with anything.  I tried notes, I couldn't bubble the fish, I couldn't pick them up, I tried fish form, I tried ghost form, I tried fish from then ghost form...

I couldn't get anything to happen, and ended up killing both of the ghost fish there, so I just quit the game to save that bit for later, and haven't gone back since.  Any hints or outright spoilers?  I'm at a loss.

edit: in case it helps, here's a screenshot:

Hmm.  Perhaps the fish it resembles is spawned by opening it.  I'm not positive I've seen them elsewhere.

Hm, so the colored plants should all give items, not spawn enemies. So, it's probably a glitch.

Or perhaps it was done on pourpose, if plants can magically carry meat then I don't see why they can't magically carry ghosts.

I wonder if they are references to Jenna's dead gold fish.

I'm Jenna, I'm 24 and come from the south of England.
Fun Watery Facts: I am the voice of Naija in Aquaria.  I will not eat anything that contains fish as I can't stand the stuff. I used to have couple of goldfish when I was little named Chip (how original), Haylie and.... Billy Goat Gruff.  Anyway they have all gone to the big fish tank in the sky now, but they will live on through Aquaria lol.

I have had a few of those too - they sting! But found them in the Abyss I think.

Actually, some plants will spawn enemies  (and one even spwans a baby seahorse) and that's intended.

No glitch and, as far as I know, no bigger purpose.

How about the REAL ghost fish in the Sunken City? You can't even kill those. They're at the save crystal, although I thought I saw them somewhere else as well... there's not a lot of life in the zone before with those pairs of enemies that have a lot of health and dash towards you.

Really? I thought that was only the two-leafed ones.

Well I'm glad I didn't miss anything important.

...those pairs of enemies that have a lot of health and dash towards you.
Those totally made me jump.  First time in a while, too.  After which I proceeded to pummel them mercilessly.
