Any idea why it took me 2 minnutes to get through the oppening animations allone

As for the game i had all the default options allong with Frame buffering and screen size set to the 12 thousand option (sry i am writing this from a diff computer).

Wow, I'm running it perfectly on Vista Ultimate, on my laptop, and its specs are much lower.  I've only got 2gig ram, 1.6ghz intel core duo, 80gig hd, and some crappy Mobile Intel graphics chipset that's definitely less than 524 MB.  Also, you shouldn't need any compatibility modes.

Of course, I only have the default options on, not anything else.  Did you try changing those?  Maybe even put it on low-end settings just to see if there's any difference.

If that doesn't work, it's possible that you might have some other program running in the background that's messing it up.  But, I don't really know much about these issues, so I'm not totally sure.  I assume you've got the latest video drivers, etc.?

Did you check the various laptop driver threads here?

Up to date drivers may work, but there are alternative drivers that may help that others have posted. (they're stickied in this forum)

I am running Vista Home Premium on a Dell laptop that I purchased in August 07.

I am having even worse performance  that what was described in the initial post, no matter what Config setting sI choose.

For example: The little fish in the intro screen move every 2 seconds.

When I move the cursor (the bubble) with the mouse during the intro, it jumps to various places on the screen every 2 seconds.

Is there anything I can do? This looks like a really cool program.

i.e. Did you try updating your video card drivers?

It's strange this game's rather irregular performance based on (laptop) hardware.
One guy with an nvidia graphics chipset is having issues while another guy with
an Intel chipset (likely integrated) is doing fine.  I've also got an Intel GMA but I am
having serious issues myself, and I have quite the rig otherwise (and the 2.0 Ghz C2Duo
processor isn't even going beyond 50% when playing, and I have over 1 GB memory free
- of my 2 GB ram - as well).  I'm assuming, like myself, you guys have the latest drivers.
I even installed XP SP2 with no better response.

I think that, if it doesn't work well with your laptop, you'll have to bite the bullet and
stick to playing this marvelous game on a desktop.  It's a crying shame I can't play it on
the go/home theatre.  I seriously hope a Nintendo DS version comes out.

Just for the sake of it, I think those with laptops should post their specs including video
details.  Here's mine:

Lappy:        Dell XPS 1330 (Bought Oct 2007)
Processor:  Intel Core2Duo T7250  (2.0Ghz)
Memory:   2GB, 667Mhz ram running in dual-channel mode
OS:               Vista Premium
Graphics:  Integrated GMA X3100  (Runs everything else perfectly fine, including
Hurrican, T2002, Warblade with all features on, etc)
                                                                    **Vista Rates it a 3.5**
Drivers:      Latest driver package 15.7 from Intel's site  (tried numerous alternate drivers too)
Status:        Game runs Slow, even at 640x480

Nambit:

Here are the specs on my laptop:

Lappy:        Dell Inspiron purchased August 2007
Processor:  Mobile AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3500+  1.80 GHz
Memory:   2GB
OS:               Vista Home Premium
Graphics:  ATI Radeon Xpress 1150
Status:        Game runs too slowly to even get past the Introduction. (Demo Version)

I should point out that I bought this computer to work on a website project with a friend of mine. I didn't buy it with gameplaying in mind. I am not surprised that this computer has some limitations.

I am not much of a gamer. It is just something I enjoy once in a while.
(Compared to my freinds who play WOW online, my gameplaying is close to zero.)

Maybe the guys at Bit Blot can do a little testing and a little tweaking to allow someone with a computer like mine to play Aquaria. In the mean time, I will look for something else. (I recently bought Railroad Tycoon 3 and downloaded the huge free expansion. I am certain that this will keep me occupied for quite some time.)

I do appreciate that there is a demo that I can try for free. It sure beats wasting money on something that won't work on your computer.

For the 53rd time, do you have the latest sound/graphic drivers available for your hardware?

Dunno who you're posting this to, but from my post above:
