The Official Xbox 360 Topic
« on: December 18, 2007, 08:51:39 am »

I thought I'd make an Official Xbox 360 topic just to keep things clean. Discuss anything related to the 360 in here.

To start things off I just played Assassin's Creed for the first time today and it's awesome. Although I've only played about an hour, this game is already in my Top 5 of 2007 for sure.

I also have Mass Effect to try out later this week...it's going to be one hell of a gaming Christmas. ;D

What is wrong with a wii owner posting in an xbox 360 thread? Who says you need to choose a console and be a crazy fanboy.

GAMERS UNITE!!!

I WILL PLAY GAMES ON ALL PLATFORMS AND ENJOY THEM!!

I've a friend who worked on Banjo Threeie (Lucky Git :p ), couldn't get any meaty information out of 'im though :p

Assassin's Creed isn't actually too bad, just don't rush it.  Treat it like Aquaria - Attempt to rush through it as fast as you can and you'll just get annoyed.

Mass Effect is pretty darn good fun, and absolutely huge, but the combat and some ferocious slowdown marks it down in a few places. Plenty to improve for the sequal :D

I've also Guitar Hero 3 waiting this Christmas, should be a good laugh (Partially because I want a crack at Dragonforce :p )

(And yeah, I've currently Ps2, 360, Wii, DS and PSP interchanged regularly. There's good arguments for all concerned... PS3 though? I'll... wait on that one :p

I recently played through Crackdown, which I enjoyed a lot (collecting cars is fun!). Haven't had the chance to play anything newer yet, though (don't blame me--it's my roommate's 360, it just lives in my room).

I never rush through the games I buy. It'd be a waste of money. I don't understand how some people can just skip all the cut scene/extras just to finish the game. What's the point? My friend was complaining that you can't skip a lot of the cut scenes in Assassin's Creed. That may be a bit annoying on a second or third time playing through, but I don't understand why he wouldn't want to watch the cut scenes first time through. The gaming experience is made so much better through a game's story. What's the point of awesome/unique killing when it's not wrapped in the context of a story? It just make it mindless and ultra repetitive. Just my opinion though. Can't wait to have more time to play so I can take it all in. :)

I was pretty annoyed at being unable to skip cutscenes in Gears of War. They did an impressive job at hinting that there was a story, but they never really let on to what it was. They also had a habit of placing cutscenes immediately after checkpoints, rather than immediately before, which is poor practice.

Hi everybody, my name is Psymon. And I am a Mass Effect addict. ;)

That game is severely awesome though. Some tech issues, but the story and character interaction are where it shines. The characters are brilliant, and it's interesting how your view on them changes. Ashley starts out looking like your average 'badass chick with a heart of gold' but as you talk to her she turns out to be something of a racist who takes a little too much pleasure in dispatching her enemies.

I really enjoyed Call of Duty 4. I went into not liking it and basically considering the game shit but i kept playing and by the end i thought it was one of the most epic games ever.
