Seriously, WTH. Dude, put a BIG bloody warning on that or I'll ask a dev to remove it (/ and you). Acronym is NOT enough. Seriously, not cool.

IMO, an acronym is enough if you know what it means, and I don't know about you, but I always check out the url first before I click anything.

A bigger sign however with adult material included however would be nice.

Seriously?  NSFW is pretty universal for "bad language or explicit nudity and/or vulgarity".  It covers the gambit.  But hey, if it really bothers you THAT much.  Anyway, it seems somebody stuck a big red warning on it.  Just goes to show you, the squeeky wheel....

I think you meant 'gamut'. Anyway, as has been said already, an acronym is only effective if it's a known acronym. Of course, it's also only useful if you can actually use it without having to type the whole bloody thing out at length every time just in case. With that in mind, may I humbly suggest that you bookmark this? Bear in mind that parts are NSFW, as internet lanugage is in large part determined by anonymous teenagers.

And how is NSFW not well known?  Anybody who goes on a forum or reads a blog should know at LEAST the important ones.  And as far as I'm concerned "NSFW" is one of the most important acronyms of the internet right up there with LOL.  But meh, it's not important to argue it, it's been fixed.

Btw, is it gamut?  What does that even mean?

any acronym I'm not familiar with I google.  that said, the piece in question is more offensive on a technical draftmanship level than a content level for myself and for that it should be purged from the interverse.

I'm not dissing you Hiro, but found it funny that you used wth in a post about nsfw. wtf is wth? jk, acronyms ftw!

Yeah, see, I don't recoginse NSFW at a glance. I don't know about you guys, but I don't hang out on places of the net where I would need to. This is not an adult site, forum, or game. I shouldn't have to be wary where I click. This is about fanart, so I just go in and click.

Seriously, you got lucky my mum wasn't looking dude. I'd be royally pissed if I got in serious trouble + questioning what I do on the computer all the time.

I quite honestly have to agree with Hiro. I've been around the web, and as a kid when I first got on the internet I'm sure I saw stuff my parent's would have killed me for. I know what NSWF means, but some people simply don't. If a parent or anyone else hits one of these links,  bit-blot will suffer, and people will be ticked.

It's downright rude to expect someone to know what it means; I'm not ripping you for posting it that way, this post is kinda a general shout-out. (everything has been fixed, and this is the first time this has happened. The poster most likely saw other stuff on this site and thought it would be okay. Which it is. He used a NSFW, which unless you're used to the internet, and places where people actually have a reason to use it, you won't know what it means)

Kids play this game, and so kids will hit these forums. To be quite honest...

Think of the children.

aerendyll, don't know if you know, but NSFW means Not Safe For Work. That was the warning.

Nope, I didn't know. I hang out on the internet a lot, but I rarely use acronyms and I almost never encounter them outside of MSN.

Btw, is it gamut?  What does that even mean?

Google claims it means the range of percievable colors under specific circumstances. I claim that I've only ever heard of a thing 'running the gamut', rather than 'running the gambit'. In other words, it covers every percievable possibility. But we've wandered quite off topic.

As for knowing NSFW, it's not genetic. We aren't born knowing all these obscure acronyms. Nobody should be expected to know. Cut some slack, since we all have to start somewhere.

What they should be expected to do is find out as quickly as possible, especially since a search takes less than a minute. There is, in my opinion, absolutely no excuse for not knowing what an acronym is, or the proper definition of a word on a forum (note this specifically does not include IMs, IRCs, and face-to-face communications). Google will tell you faster than you can make it up. Now enough of this wrangling; bring on some more fan art, yeah?

I agree that it should have been warned with bigger letters but it's damn good tip to look at the link before clicking it. Maybe some nice griefer moron would come in here and post some nice link of adult pics, you would have the same thing. Yes it needed a Tag, no it didn't, You now learned 2 things, what the Acronym NSFW stands for and to check the links you click. Not everyone thinks of the kids on the internet.

If you think you have the guts or want to see some of the lowlife on the nets, go to 4 chan.

Just...don't.

And now back to topic, any new Fanart we should know about? I'd like to see some new stuff. :)

I've been trying to draw a semi-realistic portrait of Naija, but thus far the hair is killing me. I might find a way to work around it or I might even restart the colouring process. But you can expect a portrait of Naija coming up! :D
