Aquaria fanart [spoilers]

What is it? The piranha like think in the cave? Wolf or something? Or that thing that dashes to you, the one in the Abyss anyway?

bottom corner creature is one of those eels that dosn't really attack you but hurts you, top corner is something else   

Awesome!  I can't wait to get these on the fanart page, and I definitely can't wait to see the next one!  Your style is very distinctive - I love it.

it's your guys' work that has inspired me and thanks for that    there's enough places, characters and ideas in the game to keep one busy for quite awhile if need be. my plan is to do a year of fan art on whatever media I'm exposed to, so happy to start it off with Naijas.

I know what the eels is thank you, my nitelliance and skill of recognision goes that far, but a bunch of faded lines don't tell me much, it does tell me there is something there, it doesn't looks like those worms, it isn't a eel. It doesn't even look like the wolf thing. So I have no clue.

It looks like the eye of a whale to me.

I think it looks like the eel in the Abyss.  Maybe he just drew something scary in the shadows that was perhaps Naija's first perception of one of those harmless eels.

it is a bunch of faded out lines, and wanted to try and recreate that feeling I had when going through the Abyss where it's all a mystery and your illumination reveals little clues.  she's totally defenseless and without any firepower except for light and wanted to capture the unknown, threatening nature against her luminous fragility. not sure if I totally succeeded but had fun pushing myself    the ink stage is a breakthrough for me actually, drawing a lot of this in negative and technically happy with it:  sunform black/white

You know, I think that picture is the best reproduction of the Aquaria artstyle I've seen so far.  The other artists gave it a touch of something that made it look...well, not like Aquaria in a way, but I was keeping an eye out for those eels on second playthough of the game and I snapped a pic.



I think it's a pretty damn good resemblence don't you?  Good work inky.

that's the eel I used in my pic ya    what I did was take some screenies in the abyss, doing her various sunbursts to get some palette ideas and reference shots for her costume and the creatures.  I took the basic colour ideas directly from the game but it's 'hand' painted. I appreciate the compliment Glam, but think that Daniel-David Guertin's and Tetine's more than captured something Aquariay and wouldn't have considered embarking on these if it wasn't for them

Yea that was one of (if not the) first NSFW pics of Naija to hit the web.  There's a thread called "Aquaria has finally hit the big time" or something similar discussing naughty Aquaria fanart.
