Conspiricy: Aquaria
« on: December 15, 2007, 09:08:58 am »
I find it hard to believe that this game was made by only two people. The size of the worlds and their detail, along with the incredible care taken with the gameplay, leads me to believe that this game was in fact not made by humans but by an immortal race of perfect beings who inhabited this planet long ago.

My theory goes something like this: the two "developers" are actually archaeologists who discovered the game embedded in clay tablets in a top secret government dig site. When they realized what they had found they decided to release it to the world, but unable to reveal the game's true origins they pretended to be a small developer in order to release the game without breaking the secrecy of the government dig site.

I'm unsure as to the rest of the details of the story, but until I uncover them, I'll be sitting here wearing my tinfoil hat and enjoying this awesome game.  :)

I heartily endorse your crazy theory.  May I have a tinfoil hat and name badge so I can join your club?

Ah.  A more subtle infiltration on KingAl's part.  Are you part of the club?

Anyway, it's not so.  There were more than two.  They had a voice actress and some testers, so it all makes sense.

I read this and all I can think of is how Rand and Robyn Miller referentially worked themselves into the Myst world.

2 Years is a looong time :p And you can do a lot in that time if you put your mind to it (And really believe in what you're making)

And the two of them are those freakishly mutant kinds that can do both Coding and Art/Music :p

The conspiracy may remain, but the truth cannot be said to the unbelieving.

Conspiracies exist because the information is not accessible by the general public.
The true conspiracies are the ones where the accused party does not say anything for or against the conspiracy.
At times some conspiracies are like black mail, and others harmless speculation.

Most people fear the unknown, but to learn of it one must be willing to be rejected and labeled as an "alien" to society.
