Problem with Sound

In the game when ever there is a high pitched or a really load sound, I start to get a distorted sound from my speakers. This isn't my sound card at all since it's very high quality and never does this with any other game. Is there something in the works with this or do you know what I can do to stop the distortion?

Hrm one thing you could try is in the windows sound properties turning "wave" down and turning the master "volume" up to compensate. That usually gets rid of peaking for me.

Yea, I have seen that problem with my older computer with old sound card in Linux as well... but then it happens in all applications. And for me it also helps to turn down the PCM (which means Wave, basically) volume down to about 90%.

Same deal happens to me on my laptop speakers. Which is to be expected, because laptop speakers suck, always. Using headphones solves the problem.
