Loss of voice then sound
« on: November 07, 2011, 04:18:15 am »
I am on the iPad 2 with ios5. The game starts with sound and voice, then after a short while I lose voice then will lose sound altogether.  The controls still show sound is on as does the ipad system control.

Anyone else having this problem?

I did find if reload, the sound is there.  If I just relaunch, the sound is gone.

This may sound like a stupid question or a shot in the dark, but are you having any problems with your mute button?

I experienced some weird sound issues with the mute button on my iPad1 while testing. Not because of Aquaria, but because of iOS.

Okay... Mute button was set correct, however, just flicked it off then on with the headphones in... And now sound good.  Who knew ??  Doesn't make sense, but I'll take it.  Thanks.

PS when turned mute on... Still got sound through headset.  Oh well easiliy fixed by turning volume off... At least I have sound.

Very nice.

Spoke to soon... Only worked couple of times, now gone again.  Of course, now I'm w/o headphones.  Something?? Maybe?

I am on iPad2 and Naija no longer sings.  I still have background sound, though.  Someone suggested in these posts to "reload." Does that fix it and, if so, how do you " reload?"

Just so you know, I'm looking into these, though I haven't found any cause for them yet (or been able to reproduce the problem on my iPads, for that matter). I'll update the thread if I find anything.

In the meantime, if you run into this problem again, any details you can provide about what was happening at the time would be helpful -- for example: where did it happen, were you swimming / singing / fighting / etc., how long were you playing before it happened, anything else that comes to mind.

(As a side note, Aquaria follows Apple's requirements and disables its own sound if you have any other apps playing sound, like the built-in Music app, when you first start the game. In this case, Aquaria's sound may start playing when the other app goes silent, only to disappear again if another app plays an alert or other sound. To fix this, you'll need to force-quit Aquaria from the Recent Apps bar on the Home screen -- see http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/#section_3 -- and then make sure all other sound-playing apps are closed before restarting Aquaria.)
