Wow, that is a large squid...but what I find unbelievable is the theory people say that these creatures attack sperm whales (I said humpback before, but I was mistaken) considering they're the only other large mammals that can actually swim that deep.

Enough talking, I should post another picture

Whale Shark

Caribbean Reef Octopus

Edit: No bother making a new post about it, I'll just edit this into this one. There was recent news that the largest caught giant squid was found. It measured in at 10M (that's 33ft).

In order, they are Colossal squid,  and new species of sea squirt, octo, sea cucumber, crustacean found in the antarctic. Feel free to read about them in the articles below.

Is that manta really that big, or is it just close to the camera? It does say juvenile manta ray in the picture :P

Hey, I saw this weird... 'thing' and thought I might as well register to post (I've been lurking a while). It's from an awesome UK show called Planet Earth, but unfortunately all the HD clips from the show are only available to UK residents :(

The dumbo octopus is awesome! And kinda cute... although, two of my favorite sea critters are the manta and the whale shark. But if yoou want wierd, and strangley beautiful... yoou can always count on the jelly fish. Look ma, no brains!

These guys live on the bottom of the ocean, 7,500 ft below the surface, at about 3,350 PSI.  I find that to be rather impressive.
