Steam integration
« on: March 09, 2011, 08:57:41 am »
Even though the game is somewhat "old" it does seem to still be activly developed even if mostly on ports to new platform (iPad), as such I was wondering if there was any plans to release a "minor" update to the steam version of the game to add support for steamcloud (online save backup) and steamplay (mac support).

Well, that'll have to be done on Bit-Blot's part, since I don't think any of us here have a copy of the Steamworks SDK. And anyway, they'll have to upload the build to Valve even if we managed to find Steamworks and do something with it.

As an alternative solution for steamcloud, just move your aquaria saves into a folder synchronized with dropbox, and create a symlink pointing to that in your aquaria dir. (with the right tools you can do this also on NTFS).
I am using this method to keep my saves synchronized on different machines, and i can continue playing everywhere.  Works damn well ^-^
