Baby Nautilus

Okay, I beat the Nautilus monster; how come I didn't get the baby Nautilus egg?
I saw the monster explode and then heard a "plinking" sound and there was nothing there except for an energy ball. I collected it and swam down to check if there was an egg.

I looked around, waited and checked the menu but it wasn't there!

Could you help me please?

the egg is in a small side-cave up the top left of the Nautilus cave  ;)

You need to go into that cave the Mother Nautilus was guarding, and then wait for the egg to hatch.
