1280x800 resolution?

Anyone know how I can force 1280x800 resolution? Thanks

As far as I know, you can't.   No widescreen support yet.   If you have a WS monitor, windowed is probably your best bet for now.

I think Alec had stated on another thread that he was working on patching it to at least black bar the sides for now.

You can change the first two values in the init.cfg to 1280 and 800, but as far as I can tell it's skewing the aspect ratio, i.e. everything is stretched horizontally. I don't like that, so until proper widescreen support gets implemented I prefer playing with black bars at the sides.

If your monitor and/or graphics card stretch the 4:3 resolutions to 16:10 anyway, you might want to try to find out how to disable that "feature". It should always be possible somehow.

and still i'd like to hear the ws-resolutions are coming.. like an official statement i can rely on. and tell all my friends at the university about it who sat there today trying to play aquaria with their fancy ws-screen laptops - and first thing that came out of their mouth: doubleyou-tea-eff, no widescreen?  ???

with the app you mentioned its just possible to change the hardcoded 4:3 res in memory.

setting up other than standard resolutions for aquaria is possible by changing the first two values in the init.cfg in the game's folder - just as said before somewhere around here.
too bad it doesnt work as we want it to do. if it did, i'm sure derek and alec would've been thoughtful enough to put other options in the config-app ;)

just seems like we have to wait until our dear devs decide to go for it. guess there are some changes to the engine neccessary, like when (and where) gfx have to pop up on the visible display area etc.

still.. hard to preach patience if youre impatient like me ;D

Hmm, well I didn't set my resolution that high but I have a widescreen monitor and I really can't complain because the game still looks great.
