Wii wish for Aquaria
« on: February 20, 2007, 03:16:35 am »
Hi, guys. First of all, I've just heard of you through Gametrailers, which is why I join this hallowed forum. Love the "just mouse" idea, the 2D style and the sexy British voice of Naija (British voices are always sexy!)

And speaking of "just mouse," if this game does well, at least create a word of mouth buzz, you might consider putting this on the Nintendo Wii.

Maybe we peruse this thread to discuss Wii control possibilities.

I'd love to port Aquaria to everything and anything possible, even your toaster!

Well maybe not everything, but there are a lot of systems that it would be awesome to play Aquaria on. I think we won't really be able to figure it out in any detail until after we finalize the PC version tho. We'll see!

My toaster is dual core, I'm sure it can run Aquaria, seeing as it can toast two slices of bread at the same time!

Quad Core!!

Yeah? But it runs Linux, so it's not worth anything.

Actually, you would think that Aquaria would do well on the 360 too. I think putting it on the ps3 is bad. ITd either make Sony fanboys jealous, or everyone else jealous, and nobody has the money for a Ps3.

Why are people mentioning the big consoles? I can honestly see this game in a portable system than a home console. A while ago, I saw this video of a mini-game involving NiGHTS into Dreams on the GBA (the GBA!) and when I saw the Aquaria trailer for the first time, it made me think about that NiGHTS video again. It seems to me that this game would be best suited for the Nintendo DS, that way the artwork could be shown in an even better light with the dual screens. We sure haven't seen voice acting on any portable game (that I know of...and that's not saying much), so it would be great for this to be the first (or at least one of the first).

The DS is a swell idea (yeah, I said swell... it was in a script I read today and it's been stuck in my mind...  :P ).  But, then, they might have to go through Nintendo's legal hoops and all that.  As for now, I am completely up for a PC version.  Bring it on!  If it's brought to the DS one day, oh, yeah, sign me up.

Exactly, Xbox 360 Live Arcade is a perfect place for this game. People are always looking to download games from there to pass time, when they see Aquaria, it could become a huge hit. Something people would download for more than just passing the time, because it's an actual game with a story and progression, while being totally new at the same time. A first for XBLA.

I wouldn't think so, because it'd be a pain to have the controls worked out, and then you got stuff like downbitting and stuff. We don't want to remove from that?

I'm babbling, I know, if you can understand me, you're lucky. I have a REALLY hard time with words.

I think a DS version would be cool. It couldn't be a straight port; would have to be a pretty different version of the game. But controlling with the touch pad would be awesome. :)

Quoted for the ultimate truth!  Aquaria on the DS would be great.  Wii would be fun, also.  As an aside, I played the Wii for like an hour a couple days ago and my arms are sore as hell still.

It's interesting that people are comparing the game to NiGHTS.  I've never played NiGHTS, so I wouldn't know... but I have seen some video of it, and it's not the first game I'd think of.  I think that's really cool, though! ^-^

Well, for one, you don't need to swing like a pro Batter. It's all in the wrists, for real here. I still have a hell of a time with boxing, even then.

It's so much more fun to swing like you've got a 2 x 4 in your hand and you're trying to cave in a skull. >:D
