Can I turn off auto zoom in?

Is there a way to disable the auto zoom in when I am stationary?  This is a really irritating feature, especially when hunting for small eyes.

Why WOULDN'T I want to stay still while waiting for the holes to shoot whatever they are at me so I can kill them one at a time every few seconds.

The easiest way to get small eyes.  It's also useful to NOT move while waiting for an enemy to come close in a dangerous region.   Yes, I know roll does it, that is not related to this in any way.

you can't see why it would be annoying?  to have your viewing radius cut to half or less and constantly be expanding or contracting at more or less random is very irritating.

Personally, I would love to help you kill that blasted auto-zoom feature. Give me a couple of minutes (or, more likely, a couple of hundred minutes--I'm kind of busy today) and I'll see what I can do.

You know what would be nice? A zoom feature, as opposed to auto-zoom. The auto-zoom makes it frustrating to frame up the screen and take screenshots (for a comic that I'm attempting), and you know how frustrating it is to get Naija to the same position again once you move her.

@tannim: Any chance you can turn that into manual zoom?

@Alphasoldier: As a side note, think outside of the box. Standing still (such as between currents) can avoid getting yourself damaged, while making it easy to clear out some enemies.

I doubt you can turn it into a controlled zoom.  You would somehow have to add a key to make it happen.

Well, with the source released, I'm sure it's possible for someone to just find the function that does it, and comment everything out. Even better, look through the lua code.

I agree that would be something nice to turn off. I'm not too bothered with it, but I could imagine someone else getting annoyed easily.
