Stuck in a whale *spoilers*
« on: May 20, 2010, 06:55:49 am »

Help! I got in the whale and found a load of jars on the floor.
I lit them in the order I found them, and they sang notes, and then I found an octopus in a mithalan home the whale had eaten,
(even though the shape of the cave outside forbidded it) and it sang.
The notes I found were in this order: Blue, Yellow, Blue-Green, Purple, Orange.
The Octopus's song dropped the Orange note and put the Purple one at the front.
I sang the notes I'd found, sang it's song, to no avail.

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLP!

P.S. I found a seahorse in another house. Does that have anything to do with it?

Let's solve another riddle first.

Do you know what playing the notes is supposed to do? :3

Have you tried to do something you already did in the way the octopus wants you to do it?
Your post is already screaming the solution, you should read it. ;)

The octopus is trying to tell you what you need to do. Listen to him closely.

Seeing either the octopus or the lamps were showing no notes my colorblindness made this piece excruciating long for me. ;~;

Playing Aquaria without sound would be like watching a movie without video.

I'm tonedeaf, I forgot to add that.

I find listening to the music helps if you find yourself traveling back and forth between the squid and the lamp room.

Unless you're tonedeaf, I guess.

I'm sure you've tried to light the lamps? Did you do so with your speakers / headphones on?

Do you know what happens after you solve the whale puzzle? Are you sure you haven't solved it already, but just didn't know? Nothing happens visibly OR audibly after you solve the puzzle, AFAIK. (I might be wrong about audibly though.)

If you've solved it, something will have changed in the octopus' room. Might want to check, at least. Although I seem to recall there being some sort of notification when you solve it...

Yeah, actually... me too now. I think there might ever be a flash of light or some sound.

Oh wait. The flash was before that, and it makes a sound. :/
