1st timer. Simple question about save & continue.

Basically, how do I continue from the last place I saved? Assuming that when I touched the big red crystal it did indeed save.  I've touched 3 of those crystals so far and when I went to continue it started me from the very first one.

When you touch a crystal, it (should) ask you in which slot to save.. It's that simple. When you die you continue from the last time you saved. To load, go to the main menu and click on continue, it will then show you the slots like when you save.
