More thanks from a satisfied HIB buyer
« on: May 15, 2010, 04:22:18 pm »
Just wanted to drop a post thanking you guys for making your game available as part of the HIB.  I'd what I could to drum up some support and get a few more eyes on it, any developer that goes that extra step and supports Linux natively deserves a little extra love.  From the HIB, it was the 2nd game I played and first I finished.  I'll be keep an eye out for future releases from you guys.  Keep on being awesome.

P.S.
It should soooo count as a hit if you poison yourself before getting chomped by whatshisface.  I thought I had that figured out when I cam up this that tactic.

Another fine thanks for Alec and Derek.

At the P.S.
You're not being swallowed, just hurt. The other enemy is too weak and IS swallowed.
Also you don't react (swell up) to the poison.
God sees and knows everything, but at least he won't gossip about it.

I don't want to start a new topic, so I'll give my thanks here as well. It has been a few years since I stayed up all night playing game. Interesting and unexpected storyline, lots of details, freedom of movement throughout the big world, beautiful music and graphics...  but you probably heard that about a thousand times :) It's hard to believe that it was developed by only the two of you, as well as that I didn't even hear of such a masterpiece before HIB. It's definitely worth it's full price.

I do hope that despite of what I've read, you will come together again and make Aquaria 2 in the future. But in the meantime, I look forward to Marian  8)

Thanks for eating up the time I was supposed to be using for studying. It was very well worth it. ^.–

True. I have to agree though, it would still be an awesome tactic if it worked. But it would have to be designed so that there's nothing in the room that can accidentally give you the poison status. It should be deliberate from eating poison food.

Perhaps you COULD just throw out poison loaf or some other food that's not good for Naija, but then again, I think it's a small thing compared to an evil poison infested creature.

I don't think allowing the player to damage the boss by poisoning herself would be a good idea, it might give them the wrong idea.

And then they'll come on the forums and be all "WHY IS THIS BOSS SO HARD I NEARLY DIED JUST FROM DOING ENOUGH DAMAGE TO BEAT HIM"

If I had a forum account back then I would've done that even with the current way to beat that boss. ^.–
