Mouse Glitch
« on: December 08, 2007, 05:21:23 am »
Let me start off saying the game works and it's great.  However, I have to play using a game-pad...and I'd MUCH rather use the mouse.  Problem is whenever I move the mouse at all, it goes up into the top left corner of the screen.  I can briefly move it away...but it always goes right back.

Another unrelated thing is I can't play in full-screen mode because it always cuts off part of the screen.  That's probably due to the fact I have a wide screen monitor...but it case it isn't, I thought I'd toss it out there.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hmm, it might be because its widescreen!

What if you try windowed?

Well, windowed fixes the view of the screen, but not the mouse.

I've tried everything I can think of.  I even tried switching back to a wired mouse from my wireless, (I didn't really think that'd have an effect...just trying all my options).

I've had the mouse thing happen to me before.

I want to say it was related to a joystick or gamepad but I'm not sure. Still, it's worth checking around and unplugging the gamepad to see if it changes.

Yeah, it might be gamepad stuff.

Is Gamepad Enabled checked on the AQConfig exe?

Unplugging gamepads might help.

If this turns out to be a big problem, I can probably have the game pad on some kind of key toggle. (right now it switches based on when the stick moves, and if its waggling about a lot then it could keep switching)

Well, I've tried turning off the option with and without the game pad plugged in, and keeping the option on with and without the game pad.

It's weird because I don't have this problem with ANYTHING else.

Oh, and I do have Vista if that's any help.

I still can't figure this out.

Plus, after I rebooted my computer, my game saves were gone.  I really want to play this amazing game, but I seem to be having trouble.  :P

Has anyone else had problems like this?

EDIT: Well never mind about the saves...a simple search solved that problem.  ::)

As far as your mouse glitch goes.. I really have no clue. Are you, by chance, playing on a laptop? If so try disabling your touchpad and see if that helps at all.

I did have the same issue as you did with the screen getting cut off in full screen mode. I was able to solve that problem by setting the resolution in init.cfg to match the screen ratio of my monitor. In my case, 16:10, so I set the resolution to 1920x1200. That solved the screen getting cut off, but the game will be stretched to fill your widescreen monitor. So it depends on personal preference, for myself I'd taking playing a stretched full screen game, to a windowed game any day. ^-^

Hmm...I'll try that screen stretching trick.

However, I'm not on a laptop.  I haven't heard anyone having this problem either.  :-\
