Mother Nature Assitance needed

Well hello. To start I am on a mac so things are slightly different for me, all the same I am in love with this game and will post what I can to be useful.
Two questions here. How do I get rid of the over sized anenome below Naija's home?  Where am I supposed to be. Exploring every are seems to be a little dangerous though I have Li so its a little bit less so. I've gotten to her but I just can get past her red point. The spike snakes get in my way too often even if I do manage to target them instead of her at that point.

To get past both of those you need a power you get later in the game. It's very non-linear so you will have to re-explore places as you get new abilities.

By the way you can't actually kill an anemone (get rid of) in this game. Have fun!

Yeah I think I realized I need fish form to get past it. Thanks though. OH. Li doesn't seem to respond correctly. It said if I want to leave him somewhere that I should interact with him.  Well this doesn't appear to work very well and while having my pet and Li is typically helpful it would be nice if the game functions would work.
I'm also stuck in sun temple, I can't get the water past the second set of gears. I've tried maneuvering the dark room but something seems to attack me every time. I resorted to floating around the Kelp forest for a while but so far I'm not doing any better there either. However something tells me I've gotten ahead of myself my powers so far are her first two and then the one I get from Mithilas himself. I'm slightly perturbed that he starts growing in her home but I suspect that will come to pass. Still trying to figure out where to get her fish form. And whats this about killing the turtles in turtle cave? I mean I know you can because I had to heal there due to obnoxious baddies but...

Grr she's obnoxios but I can't get my items to last past the point where she's red. Which while I am at it reminds me.  What are the round balls for?

By the way you can't actually kill an anemone (get rid of) in this game. Have fun!

Well, you can, actually,. There are two methods
1)  Just bind and drag a big rock behind you, and swing it around to hit the anemone.
2) Use beast form and do bite attacks. (this one is a bit difficult, but not impossible, to pull off without taking damage)

Li doesn't seem to respond correctly. It said if I want to leave him somewhere that I should interact with him. 

Interact with the helm, this can be done at two places:
1) Li's cave.
2) Naija's home. (below the save crystal)

Also, if you want to control Li's attacking behavior, singing his song will toggle attack mode on an off, except when you are separated, then it just teleports him towards you.
