Stuck vs everhunger (mith) - please help
« on: April 19, 2009, 11:46:45 am »
Been playing Aquaria for a while, and is very enjoyable, v nice graphics, good music, easy to lose track of time while playing - the hallmark of a good game, in my books.  Thanks muchly Alex. V 1.0.0 ran fine in XP, and now seems to fine fine in Vista, but I'll hold off for patch (?when, any idea?)
Ive explored the abyss the hard way (sing to attract & keep glowfish etc nearby; vege-form protect vs spikes when glow-ers gone) & mapped it by tracing screen (now found screen maps tks). (tho not found u/water city yet). Got mech whale to push me past strong current so got to veil OK
Access 2 sunform seems 2 require beastform; also cant swim against strong currents even with 3x speed, so guess need beast-form to run up walls?

>>prob: nothing I throw at the Everhunger (boss) under Mithalas seems to do any major damage. Can someone help please ?

I have fire/vege/ghost/fish forms + Li + Urchin armour. Tried fireballs, using shield to bounce his ?enzyme-balls back at him, fish-form+swamp cake (made him jump back some after eating , but that seems all), and swampcake + rainbow soup;  he ignores vege-form cactuses... and somehow even where there are no currents showing, still get sucked in front of it (hunger) even when do actually get behind...

He spawns those mermen (ugly fish creatures), who turn into poisonous blobs when touching those underwater gasses. (blobs can be bound)

He seems to be hungry, so let him eat something else than you.

Hope this helps.
God sees and knows everything, but at least he won't gossip about it.

And two patches have been released after the one you currently are using - email Alec with all the information you used to purchase Aquaria (all numbers outside of financial information, your email address, and the name you used to buy the game).

Thanks Alphasoldier! Done!  appreciate your fasthelp and sorry its taken me a while to get back.

Does anyone know about the glowing tadpole like thing in the topleftmost 'house' in the polluted water outside Mithalas ?  (Also think I saw a couple in a water bubble in the veil somewhere) Besides sticking to you and putting out bits of light, does it have any properties ? I cant seem to take it outside the 'outside Mithalas' area (it disappears) so couldn't try it in the abyss (tho, those glowing rolling-ball egg things in Abyss look like larger versions tho they dont attach ). .... ?

Those are tadpoles, and they will cling to you and regenerate your health if you sing the color of their eyes.  :) Be careful though - switching to fish form, rolling, and leaving an area all dislodge the tadpoles/make them disappear. They also slow you down, so don't carry too many.

I've never seen any slowdown effect from Huggies. I think you may be mixing them up with the Leaches in the dark sections of Open Waters southwest.

The Deep Crawlies in the Abyss are just an environmental hazard.

The tadpoles and the leeches are two very different things, but there definitely is a slow-down effect (in v. 1.0.3).  ;)

I like the tadpoles; don't seem to slow me down around Mithalas city. Cute little buggers. Hey, I am having the same trouble as the guy who started this thread; Ekkrit kindly took me up the veil; got Li, played in the Sun Temple and turtle cave, got the egg. Couldn't bear to kill the turtles;  prefer going in and out of the song cave instead. That turtle has no personality. Have normal, nature, energy, fish, and dual but I can't seem to defeat the scurvy prince in Mithalas. I tried with and without Li and he seems to spawn the mermen quite soon when I have Li but I can't bind them and he won't eat the existing green frog guys. Without Li I wait and wait, fifteen or twenty minutes of boring bombardment, bur he doesn't put out any mermen. What am I doing wrong? Is there a trick to get him to make them? Any advice greatly appreciated; I obviously am not figuring this out on my own.

Must be an old bug that was fixed, then, since there's definitely no slowdown in 1.1.2

As for Mithala, you can only bind the armored mermen, after they've been changed by poison in the alcove. You'll have to get them to chase you through it.
