[Resolved][Problem] Aquaria Shutdown my PC
« on: March 12, 2009, 10:43:02 am »
Hi, I have a big problem :
When I run the demo of this game, the game charge and shutdown my computer...
I have deactivate "Frame Buffer Effects" and I can play the game for 1~2 minutes before shutdown.

My configuration :
Windows XP Pro SP2
Dual Core AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
nVidia GeForce 8800 GT OC
2 Go G-Skill PC6400 for RAM

I think the problem was the game because I can play at FEAR 2 for 2 hours without any problem but if I run Aquaria after it shutdown.

What can I do to play this game without the game crash ?

The Demo still has quite some bugs, I'm sure the full version would work flawless.
Which means you'll have to consider if you want the game without having played the Demo.
Maybe you could watch some game-play videos.

You could also just reinstall the Demo and see if that works.

Further, you could post the last bit of debug.log which is in the Aquaria directory, but I'm not sure if that's there in the demo.

The debug menu can be accessed with a command in-game, but I don't know if that would change anything.

OK, I try many configuration for playing the game and I see the game is better stable at very low resolution with no option...
I have a nice Graphic Card and I need to play with low resolution... That's very strange.
Maybe I buy this game but I don't want to play a game a window in 640x480 !

There's a Debug Menu in Aquaria? O_o

And, well, Golork, I'd suggest you still play a bit more with the 640x480, you'll still have the gameplay you can judge about before you buy the game.

There's one in the demo that can be used to get the energy form early, but it's not in the full game.  :)

It's ok now I find the problem : this is the Vsync option that trouble me and do a shutdown !
Deactivate it and no problem !
Edit : I added [resolved] for people who have the same problem.
