I'm horribly stuck
« on: January 07, 2009, 01:02:54 pm »
Hi! I am new to the forums, and fairly new to the game too  :)

I'm a bit stuck on this one level, I hope someone can help me. I'm in the sun temple and I've gone through every place I can reach, I just don't know where to go.

Here are some screenshots which will better explain where I am:

One in game
One of the map, the little black X is where I am

I have the energy form, beast form, and nature form.

Thanks!  :D

Well now I have missed something; what's with that awesome map-screen...? It seems that I have managed to miss some update recently  :-[

Sun Temple surely is a interesting place. My problem was that it has been years since I have solved any puzzles at all, so every obstacle seemed to be insuperable. I really enjoyed that part, even I needed help too.

It has been some time when I played that place in question, and I'm not too sure what you know already, but I'm guessing what obstacle you are facing. There are also few topics concerning the same problem (I think, maybe concerning Sun Temple more generally), but there're, of course, a higher risk for spoilers.

A couple of hints: playing with a water-level and with basic song. Be sharp and don't think too complexly  8). I don't dare to tell any details, it ruins the fun.

Ohhh, I dunno about the map, It's always been that way for me. I bought the game off Steam about a week ago if that's the difference? :)

Thanks for the hints. While I was playing I jumped onto that gear that you can see in the first screenshot I made, the hint bar appeared at the bottom of the screen that read something along the lines of: "Hold left and move the cursor around Najia (spelling) to rotate..." I think... So anyway, I did that and nothing happened except that she jumped off a few times.

I'm guessing maybe you have to raise the water levels somehow? Don't know if you can do that (my old Zelda playing days are breaking through there)  :P

Are there any solid things?
Can they spin?
Can you spin?
Can spin be transactioned?

Here's another hint:

What do cogs/gears (whatever you want to call them) and whirlpools have in common?
~Cryzbl has spoken!

Just because you have the right of free speech doesn't mean you can speak freely

That's what I'm talking about, Aquaria's puzzles are like a fresh breeze from the past; I remember the legendary Zelda-games in N64 (Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask)  :).

It's like chokke is hinting, gears are the key. It should be highlighted when you move the mouse over it (this shouldn't be a spoiler then)? Dunno for the later versions, I bought mine in early 2008 and I'm looking for an update!  :P

vs. 1.1.1 has the wonderful map update, as well as widescreen support and recipie previewing. the audio and puzzles have been tweaked but it's been so long since I've played I couldn't tell you exactly what except the whole thing is lovely. you'll want to look at this thread for more info: http://www.bit-blot.com/forum/index.php?topic=1426.0  and I'm not sure exactly what the state of the union is at the current time for upgrading

I found that sun temple puzzle very vexing  >:(   spin or roll underwater, it's a good thing to do in general in the game to see the effects as you play. you can keyboard map that action and by default I think it's R

once this puzzle dawns on you it all falls into place pretty quickly what you have to do  :)
Ellie: Are they from the future too?
Sawyer: You told her?

Ah ha! Success! You know when I first discovered that spinning trick I just thought it was just something to fart around with that happened to look pretty  :D :-[ Where I went wrong was that I was sitting on top of the gear, and moving the mouse frantically around Najia haha! "Why won't this ****** move!"  :P

Thank you Vetehinen, chokke, Cryzbl and inkblob (You all have elaborate names :))

The spin is also usefully to get out of "grippy" situations as well.  ;D I'm glad it wasn't just a visual effect! And it becomes even more important in the final form.  :o

Well Dandalf is kind of a mockery of my real name (of course, no one will ever guess what that is :P) from some friends, it kinda got stuck  :)
The temple is a lot of fun, yeah. I've just got one of the lost memories in the giant, floating sphere of water. It's always fun bouncing back and forth from walls!  :D

Sounds great! Can't wait to see what happens  :D

Just kidding a bit, but I do like your name it's one that you have to live up to or give in to, and if I were in your shoes I would live up to it instead :D Be yourself, after all most people who get to be really well known are those with names that stand out from the crowd :D
