Advertisment in Mac Life Magazine
« on: December 21, 2008, 02:23:46 am »
I recently found a full-page ad for Aquaria while perusing the computer magazines at Barnes and Nobles - did you guys pay for it or did Ambrosia take the initiative? Also, there is an interesting, but fairly melancholy new piece of artwork (of Naija) - did Derek draw it? (Feel free to use this thread for broad discussion of Aquaria's new found publicity.)  :)

Yeah, Ambrosia paid for it and Derek drew it. :)

If anyone has any magazine scans or pics of it, I'd like to see how it turned out!  8)

It's confined to the USA - I think  Macworld is the British equivalent, though the publishers don't convert pounds to dollars for the American version.

[EDIT] BTW, this post is the first entry in Google if you search Aquaria Mac Life. (excluding Aquarium)

So that would be how I found out about this game's existence. I can also send the image via email if anyone wants it.

Thank you Snowy it's nice to be able to see it even if it does have to be small :( It looks great though from what I can see of it in the larger version.

Ars Technica: The Technical Arse. I somehow doubt it was a Brit who fabricated the title.  :)

It's gladdening to see the positive publicity sparked by the new releases - not to mention new screenshots.  ::) That was the first review I've seen with new pics.

that's a real nice review. this is a hard game to describe to someone and they did a good job of making it succinct and appealing at the same time. great poster too! it has a Beatle's Yellow Submarine quality to it, not sure if it's the distinct profile with crisp and bold shapes and colouring, but it has a 60's vibe to it.
Ellie: Are they from the future too?
Sawyer: You told her?

I really didn't feel like registering at another forum, but I thought it best to say that on that link there is someone that wants the game but thinks it's only available for the PC as of December 22nd. Obviously miss-informed.

When I saw this, I feared it might threaten our small friendly forum family. But then I remembered 2 weeks ago (Schcool got snowed out all week last week, and now theres 8 inches of snow, an inch of ice, and another foot of snow under that) I got mad at my friend when I brought up Mirrors Edge, and he said, "Oh yea, thats that new game by EA, right?"
So now im not as worried.

What? Why would the review threaten our small friendly forum family?

I meant the Advertisement. Its just that in most forums, sometimes I go away for a while, then the community has grown alot, and theres alot more unfriendly people, the worst case was the Maplesim Forums.
