Help in Sunken City

Okay, I know there are a million threads on Sunken City, but I can't seem to get this. I can move the flower-boy around, and I know how to play the twelve-note sequence on the wall (a strange rune appears, nothing else). I take it I have to get the boy *to* some place, and then sing at him, but where and how? I've brought him up to the gate  where the song is written on the wall. But by the time I manage to sing the thing, he's flown away. Do I just need to sing really fast? is there a way to make him stay in place? I tried hemming him in with big green plants, but he flies through them.

I'm sure the answer is very simple, but I can't find it for the life of me. Thanks!

I suspect that the boy only stays in place when you light the way for him; as for the song, you don't need to sing it to the boy, but to the runes on the wall. Go to youtube and listen to the OST for Home Waters again. There should be a part that stands out really well -  that's what you need to sing. If that doesn't help, go back to the boy's mother and listen again. Good luck!

I'm sorry, I think we're talking about two different creatures in sunken city. I've led the one who's scared out of the darkness. Then there's another, lower down who sits amidst a bunch of flowers to the right of the big tree He (she?) moves when you throw flowers near her - I think I'm supposed to lead him somewhere, I think down to the room where the runes on the wall tell me what to sing in order to open the door. But when I bring him down there with a flower path, he flies away back to his starting point before I can finish singing. I know the song - i can tell it's the right one - but I don't know what to do with it.

I figured it out! You don't bring him forward - you bring him *back* to his crying brother. Got it. Thanks.
