Tetris is okay.  But I much prefer the somewhat obscure Magical Drop games for Neo Geo.  The day I got Magical Drop Pocket for my Neo Geo Pocket Color was one of the best days of my life.  The other was when I got Seiken Densetsu 3 running via emu on my PSP, then discovered there was a Neo Geo emu that would run Magical Drop 3.  I went into a coma and had to be taken to the hospital.  The doctors said there was no cure for happiness (I think life has since proved them wrong), but eventually my mind made sense of this pure, concentrated bliss, and I awoke to spend far too much time playing old games at work when I really should have been working.

Also, I'd just like to apologize for my participation in this complete thread derailment.  My own boards are sort of known for going off course, I guess maybe I'm feeling a little too at home...

wow, that's heavy stuff and wild to hear... I've been interested in Magical Drop for years after seeing some dazzling game sprites but never  played it.  you resparked my curiosity in seeing the World girl bouncing up and down with joy

Ellie: Are they from the future too?
Sawyer: You told her?

Is it anything like this? http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/272924

It looks very similar, but I believe it is a fan-generated flash game.

Mine also Quemaqua, but on other boards try my hardest to stick to the subject because devation is not always liked. Artists are pretty well known for the fact that they just deviate lol

Haha, maybe it's because I'm an (bad) artist then.

And Chimera, no, it's nothing like that at all.  YouTube ftw.  This guy kind of sucks at it, but that's probably better so you can get a better sense of what's going on.  It's the most addictive puzzle game of this type I've ever played.  I'm not particularly amazing at it, but to this day I can sit and play it for hours on end and completely lose track of time.

I'd also like to note that I was never really in the hospital with a coma.  Seriously.  That was a joke.

The game looks good but those voices spoil it for me :o

Aren't the voices sorta on par for many Japanese games?  I've only played a few which had voices, and some were just really bad quality (older games) and some were just annoying/cutesy like that :P.

And boy, that game looks fun XD.  I think I tried to find it once, and couldn't get it to work right :X.  I know I've heard of it before.

Yes they are but when you have to listen to them all the way through a game it really winds me up to screaming pitch :(

You could always just turn the sound off.  But if you're playing it properly, you shouldn't even be hearing sound or seeing any signs of life other than what's on your screen beckoning you to PLAY WITH GREATER FERVOR!

I like the style of game.. hense puzzle fighter :) but, the sounds are a bit obnoxious while I was watching the video.. and there was actually a lot less animation.. then again.. when you are playing it you really don't have time to focus on what the characters are doing, and it is quite fun. I play puzzle fighter on 2 psps ad hoc linked and it's an absolute blast. yay for arcade emulation. Runs flawless. :)

The animation and even the "versus" quality aren't really the point.  There are modes that don't involve playing against other characters at all, and those are the ones I play most frequently.  Those also eliminate the noise problem if that's really a problem for you.

Not the point, yes I suppose... maybe... but I think graphics do play an important part of a game. Sure there are plenty of games that have a great game mechanic and don't need great graphics, or spectacular audio.. and it can  just be nice eye/ear candy sometimes.. but sometimes it annoying graphics and audio can make one cringe while playing a game that could have been a whole lot better without it.

Lol, you didn't have to put it that way. I was actually very light-headed at that time when I was recording this because it was in the middle of the afternoon and I haven't eaten yet. >_<

Oh btw, hi to all! Aquaria looks so promising. It's a very beautiful game. :)
