Stuck At Kelp Forest

Hi, recently got the game, and I'm stuck at the Kelp Forest. I've gotten the energy form, and have pretty much explored everywhere I can in the open waters. Now I'm in the kelp forest and I have no idea where to go or what to do.

What you seek is either in the top or bottom left corner (top is more important, but there is a nice thing to have in the bottom left)

Sorry if I'm being a little obscure, but when I played, I didn't want the experience to be spoiled.

If you have trouble finding what is in the bottom left, remember to try anything, no matter how impossible. Gee, I'm cryptic.

I think it helps to go to Mithalas (east of open waters) first, but that's open to you.

Kelp forest is much harder if you do it first and I wouldn't suggest it on a first playthrough.  But if you insist on doing so, it's as Chibi said.  Bottom left is a puzzle with a great reward.  And upper left is a necessary upgrade (though not necessary for quite a while).

But once you know it it's not so bad at all, it's just that on your first visit there that the monsters are scary and destructive. I know prefer to go and get the bonus in the left corner before going to Mithalis, it comes in useful at times

Okay, so I'm in Mithalas, and now I'm in the throne room. I picked up the disc and put it in the middle throne, but I can't move on because there's a big stone door, and everywhere else I haven't been is obstructed by running water.
