After-the-end Question
« on: May 04, 2008, 03:27:48 am »

I've got a disturbing gameplay question-

I've just finished the game with the secret end (btw what in it isn't shown in the regular end?). Is that it?
I mean can't I continue treasure-hunting in the just-fixed world?
So entering the final battle means I won't get a chance to explore Aquaria again?  ???

Does that mean I'll have to explore the world only before the final boos battle sequence?

Thanks for replying. I have to be sure of that, because it's kind odd/bad you "lose" everything by battling that last battle.

Yeah, the game ends after the final battle so you won't be able to explore after that.  But I don't remember there being a save point after so you wouldn't get stuck not being able to go back.

For the regular ending without all the secrets it stops before the part after the cutscenes where you appear on the last map and can move again.

You cannot continue past the final boss to explore.  However, there is a save crystal immediately before the final boss with a turtle for transport.  It's very convenient.  So no, don't worry about having to explore everything before you fight the boss.  Progress is not saved afterwards and you will not be shut out.

This...game...ROCKS!

thanks for the quick response guys!

@ Glamador: "So no, don't worry about having to explore everything before you fight the boss.  Progress is not saved afterwards and you will not be shut out."

you mean- I will be shut out.

so I guess everyone get back to their save before the final boss after they beat him, and continue exploring from there (after seeing how the game ends) without fighting him?

You've seen the end, so I don't understand your question. The end makes it obvious that you can't explore further after that. It won't make sense at all if you are allowed to go back to Aquaria after Mia kidnapped you and controlled your mind (or put you in a crystal).

well I've just finished collecting every possible thing (though I don't have a few recipes pages).

total play time: 20 hours.

anyone kind enough to open a "how much time did your initial playthrough took" poll?

Wait, after I did the regular ending, the credits roll, everything finishes and I'm back to title screen. Nothing else happens, no hunt for memories, nothing, I missed out on a lot of stuff though

That's true. You are supposed to use an old save game to search the memories.

And that I did, and it left me confused beyond description (see: the ending topics)
