Opinions?

I know you said that you deiced to make it on a single input device (the mouse) for all game play and you found this a challenge. I was wondering if you might be taking on the same challenge to put this game on the IPhone because it would widen your audience and seems like the PERFECT platform for the game (casual game play, relaxing controls where you would just lost in game play) if you could get over a few hurdles. Have you taken some time to see if you might be able to port your game?

Just a question, but have you looked around in the forum?
God sees and knows everything, but at least he won't gossip about it.

Well, Alec has been working for months trying to get the game working on Macs and Linux, he's contacted consoles about developing for them...he's been a busy bee.  I don't think any consideration is going undicussed by Alec and Derek, but it's alot of work even porting games like this.

This...game...ROCKS!

I am aware of this effort but I am talking about a completely differnt platform
It would be like saying he was working to get it on PS3 and when someone asked on PSP

Hey. I looked at the SDK a bit. I think it would probably be better to do a sequel / spin-off type game for it rather than a direct port. (if we directly ported the original game, it probably wouldn't run very well... uses a lot of CPU + video card power)

Actually... I was thinking the same thing as Alec, that the iphone would not have enough power but...

Interesting. I had no idea that the iphone had any kind of graphics acceleration.

Yeah, it has hardware acceleration, but I still don't think it'd be enough to do a direct port.

Mainly the CPU... running the amount of LUA scripts that Aq does on < 1ghz wouldn't be pretty.

Aquaria also has a ton of large textures, more-so than Quake3 would... and there's only 128mb RAM. (I'm guessing part of it is used as video memory)

If I ever get an iPod Touch, it'd be a fun thing to try though. (provided someone ports SDL over)
