You know what'd be useful? A way of scaling up/down the ripple effects from spinning and such. It'd really be nice for several reasons;

People who's computers can't handle the extra effects, and people who find it hard to see (which, might be a gameplay mechanic)

As far as I know, either people's computers can handle it or they can't. So I don't think there's a gradient there at all.

But please refer back to my comment about experiencing extremely infrequent slowdowns  due to reflections.  I think that's what he referred to, being able to tone it down to fix framerate issues, not entire usage issues.

if what you are meaning is some sort of slider for effects to dial it up or tone it down then I'd be using that if it was able to be put in place. even if it was a faux slider with just a few presets

Reflections can only be turned off or on.
