OoT is retro now?  I remember anticipating its release for years...  :'(

Well, I might be jumping the gun, but it feels like ages since it's come out!  Think about it.  Pong was 1970s, NES was 1980s.  That's one generation.  In almost the same amount of time, we've gone through one extra generation.  It might just be me.  /shrug

I'm so sick of hearing that things are "out of date" in the mainstream press. I mean, come on. Classic games are still great. I've been playing Castlevania: SotN, and just got to the inverted castle. That game has wonderful graphics. Looking good isn't just about whether you're using the latest tricks or not.

sigh

I completely agree.  Graphics are nice, and technology has come a long way, but, at the end of the day, if a pretty game has no depth (characters suck), challenge, a crappy story, etc., what's the point?  Legend of Zelda OoT and Chrono Trigger are a couple of games that I always feel able to return to no matter what game has come out and what current gen systems can do.  I should go hook up my Genesis now.  Viva la old school.

Off-Topic / Re: What kind of soundwaves do you listen to?
« on: March 20, 2007, 03:34:51 am »
Just keep country away from me.  Keep it to thyself, please.

I've actually been listening a lot to Postal Service and Death Cab and Decemberists and the soundtrack to WoW: Burning Crusade.

I'm an indie kid of sorts, but I can occasionally go from White Stripes to Gnarles Barkley to Linkin Park to Cake to Jack Johnson to Smashing Pumpkins to Beck to Minus the Bear to Yeah Yeah Yeah's to Bloc Party to whatever else.

One game that's gotten myself into more music is Guitar Hero II.  Huzzah for War Pigs by Black Sabbath!

Actually, Resident Evil (the remake for the GameCube) did make me jump a couple of times. Definitely worth playing in the dark at 4am  >:D

RE4, Widescreen TV, at 4am no lights... it got to a point where my buddy and I opened a door and aimed a gun, opened a door, aimed, opened, aimed... paranoia rocks so hard at that hour.

Doom (the original) had my heart pounding as well.

Not everything has a myspace, or youtube, or deviantart. Often times, it's pretty wasteful, I mean, we got a perfectly good site right here too.

I know, but it's all in good fun.

Ha, yeah, I'm a myspace junky  :P.  I was wondering when Bit Blot's or Aquaria's was going to surface?

I would not be surprised that the compositor have already heard Nobuo Uematsu, Yasunori Mitsuda and Konji Kondo ^^.

I definitely love their work more than mere words can describe! Final Fantasy VI was life changing for me.

Lol, I have yet to play FFVI.  And, according to my buddies, I am communist for not doing so.  The jokes on them though.  I'm a socialist.

It has begun.

Edit: I just noticed it has more DLs than the review of VF5.  Win.

I guess it's too early to ask this and this might seem a little forward of me (hell, this question might be in the wrong thread), but I feel it's pretty relevant to the topic.  Plus Derek mentioned something about it.

How much will this game cost for the download?  I'm a college student, so I want to know how much money I should set aside.
