Hi,

Just discovered this project today, seems very promising, I am looking forward to play it eventually when it will be finished :-)

hmm..apparently all the videos are gone
Yes, I am replaying the game and was looking at this since I am stuck with the Cathedral boss just now, and it appears that 'This video is no longer available because the YouTube account associated with this video has been closed. '

Thank you for your answer :-)

However that did not work out:

I did not have any download link in my current main email address nor in my gaming email address

I then went to check my OLD email address, which was due to expire a week ago and which I have not used for over 6 months.
It was still active although it should be expired (they had become paying accounts for the past 3 years, therefore I do not expect that the account will exist much longer).
The link there was already expired.

The link to Plimus support does not give me any option to change my email address, nor to identify myself in the first place.
I am sending you copy of the email received so that you can verify that I am actually the recipient, as well as my current email address again, which I sent you through emails to bit-blot and the email address suggested to me above.

I did download the 2 soundtrack files without problems, thank you.

For some better chances you can try emailing Alec directly: zaphire -at- gmail -dot- com, it's more likely to get an answer this way (although I remember he mentioned this address was a mess and flooded with spam)

Just done that today, I was not expecting a quick answer here :-)

For what is worth, back when the forums were down, I was able to reach Alec through twitter. I created an account just for that.  :P
This way could be faster.
That is not an option for me.

Thanks.

No, I dont use twitter, so I can only use emails on the forum.
The email address I used is the one which is still on the official website at http://www.bit-blot.com/aquaria/buy.html , which is why I used it.

I bought this game a few years ago, you can check that from my date of registration on this forum, and earlier posts.

My main computer died last year due to water damage (leak from upper floor), and I have since been restricted to a 'temporary' Windows 7' Laptop.
I cannot retrieve my earlier game registration information, as all was on the currently unreadable hard drive of that computer.

I wanted to try reinstalling the game on this laptop, so a few months ago I emailed with all those details, providing the email address I was probably using at the time and my current email address.
No answer ever came, so a few days ago I did the same again, still without any answer.

So my first question, is there still someone at Bit Blot, or have they closed down ?

Polite reply to Alphasoldier:

You sir, appear to be what would be called a troll in most forums.

If you care to actually >READ< my posts and >UNDERSTAND< them, I did not 'criticize' the developers in any form other than constructive criticism, with suggestions for improvements.
As for me, I am normally a RPG player, NOT by any means of arcade games, therefore I do have some difficulties with the pure action parts of it.
That does not give you the right to question my intellectual abilities, which, unless you are also a member of Mensa, would be quite higher than yours.
Intellect does NOT mean that you automatically obtain the basic information required to make deduction, particularly in presence of contradictory information observed, as was the case if you read the post.

Soup did the trick for jumping (out of the water, OR out of a water bubble).
Also managed, from the Urchin equipment bubble, using a speed +2 soup (+1 not enough) to land close to the Rukh that is up there. Killed it, but could not get close enough to get that egg.

I am having a hard time myself on the pure arcade sections:

- I tried the 'Simon' game for 30 minutes, cannot get it right with my mouse, just not enough fine control to do them in the SHORT time limit. The highest I managed is 7 notes once. Trying to find a new mouse which will do it, just for this game, is not an option. Maybe THAT part requires a gamepad, not going to buy one just for 1 game, either.

- I managed, with a LOT of attempts and difficulties, to climb areas where I have 2 opposite wall near each other, so I got the memory from above the Sun temple, and the egg from the climbing chimney East from it. Again, difficulties due to >lack of< mouse fine control. NO potion used or needed, but a fair amount of luck.
By the way, does anyone know if that Rukh respawns, so that you can (theoretically) get more eggs from there?

- I do all my climbing and jumping with either Beast form (for VERY close walls) or Nature form if there is enough place for a spike AND jump on it from below. It is definitely NOT easy, and I hate every minute of it. I am basically an RPG player, bought this game from the RPG point of view, and absolutely NOT an arcade games player.

As for jumping itself, I am stuck in 2 places. The Beast form appear to have the strongest jump (higher or farther), but I still cannot reach the Bubble where I see a spiked helmet (my high jump ends just below that bubble). And there is an area left from the Sun Temple, above a save stone, which I cannot jump high enough to get onto the ledge.
In both cases, I seem to be short about the same jump height.
There are potions for a lot of things, but none is described as meant to improve jump ability. However, a forum search in the past few minutes ( I was here for that) told me that a SPEED increasing potion should do the trick.
So, going back mow to try that.

Watcha mean you can't dodge and fight back?  Sure you can.  And if you use nature form you can charge up a shot, let loose while he takes are breather, then dodge some more.  Or you can just reflect all his bolts back at him.  As long as you keep tapping the shield hotkey (9 i think) you shouldn't take damage.

Also, the trick to not getting sucked in is to drag the frog over to him then cling to a wall.  You can't be sucked in by things when clinging.

Ah, well, until this I did not know about the shield hotkey, only about the forms hotkeys',  so I had to cast shield the hard way...  would bind also have a hotkey, by chance?
And I went to bed instead of trying again, will do in a short while.

EDIT:
Nevermind, experimented and found the bind hotkey: 0
Both only work while in native form (hotkey 1)

I did a search with the keyword 'hotkey' but did not find a list of them, so I will list here those I know so far (for anyone doing the same search in the future):

1 - Native form
2 - Energy form
3 - Beast form
4 - Nature form
5 - Sun form
6 - Fish form
7 - Spirit form
8 - ?
9 - Shield song (ONLY in Native form)
0 - Bind song (ONLY in Native form)

I will fill in 5 and 8 as I discover them through natural playing.
Note: compared to Mithala, getting the Spirit form was, errr.... dead easy  ;-)

That is weird, my message was definitely fine in my browser after I validated it at the time, but now it looks like this, as if I was entirely quoting someone else... looks like a forum bug to me.
And my reply was a suggestion to improve the game... as in 'constructive criticism'.

Anyway, I eventually went back, killed Mithala after a few attempts... then the game froze while he was talking. Had to abort the game with Task Manager.
Going to try again in a few minutes.

Now, my experience is that when you bring the bound poisoned frog towards him, there is NOT enough time to unbind it and go back, if you bring it far enough for it to be eaten.
If you do not bring it far enough, it is simply ignored, and Mithala simply pass him to get close to Naija. So I have to kill it to start again.

As a result, I simply brought it while in energy form, both get swallowed, but Naija get spit back out. Take a bit of damage, but that's what potions are for.
Once its eyes got blown, I tried using the shield from native form to reflect the balls, but that is not strong enough: they get reflected, but still land damage on Nayja.
So I ended up spamming potions (using the escape key to go to potions) while shooting in energy mode (since it now shoots non stop, cannot dodge them AND fight back).

giving an early hint that the runes are ACTUAL useful writing, rather than pure decoration as in most games (which is why I did not catch up on them).
You mean like, runes changing into actual letters like it's done on the main screen? ;)
Well, THAT is done so often in various games introduction and movies, without being significant elsewhere, that it does not draw attention other than in hindsight... but if the programmer find it a good idea, he could add a translation tool coming as a tablet.
I would work like this: when you see HOME, the runes would morph, and the tablet tool would open and add those 4 runes and letters.
When new runes messages are found, they would be added as untranslated, their text kept in a log, and the player adding manually the letter matching a give rune past the first 4...  and the rune text found would use this as a key to key full or partial text for the rune messages found.

I totally missed out on red-bulb foods, because I used all mine early on in simple foods :(  Didn't realize they were special until I had gone 10 hours without finding any more... I think I even used up a Special Bulb that way.

Same issue here, never knew that they were in limited supply (anything else so far is not), so I am going to miss out on several recipes.
