Depositfiles, Rapidshare, there's a hundred of 'em.  I remember just 6 or 7 years ago you couldn't find free file hosting ANYWHERE.

Mega uploads could be a possibility, Rapidshare SUCKS, Depositfiles seems to be just as shitty as Rapidshare.

Is there no site like willhostforfood any more?

I remember using a site called box.com(.net?) for storage a few years back, don't know if it's still around but I think it's worth a look into.

I hear people bashing Rapidshare all the time.  I say it's all propaganda.  Every free hosting site I've been to makes you wait (usually less than a minute) for files.  They all give you the same set of pre-made HTML links + delete link when you upload a file, and the downloads are almost never interrupted by something on their side of the interweb.

So please, tell me, what's so horrible about Rapidshare?

Not being able to download my files because there are no more regular member download slots anymore.

Rapidshare is as unreliable as that old best friend that let you hang when you needed him the most.

Hey, I think you should try box.net. It just requires registration to be able to upload files.
That's the page where I upload everything that's not an image or a video, and I have been quite satisfied. :v
There's no advertisements, no waiting... You just click the link and click the big DOWNLOAD button there and we're done.

I just don't understand where free file hosting sites get their money.  ???

Three words. Advertising, advertising, advertising.  ;) Most of that goes towards their survival, and donations/premium accounts help...

[EDIT]: Edited. ^-^

Then there's always memberships and donations, which also keep it up.

But I'll try Box.net, seems very handy... as long as it stays free.

EDIT: No direct linking, another fail for that.

I use depositfiles.  I'll give Alpha that point about running out of download slots against rapid.  They didn't always do that.

Oh, come on! How picky can someone be about something they're trying to get for free?!

box.net is a great site.

It is a great site for personal use, I never said otherwise, just a fail for not having something as simple as direct linking for free.
And seeing there are loads of free hosting sites, I might as well go for the best one.
WHFF was great and I bet/hope there are sites alike.
