You got it pretty much.  But you have to use the charged sunburst in sun form.  Not just sing the song.

I did that super form song and went into naija's pink form and damaged him once but that's it I could only do it once. What do I do after I damaged him already in super form?

Well you have to find a way to charge yourself again.  You might not have noticed it...but he is vulnerable in one spot just before he fires his mega-laser...but that timing is a B*TCH.

i must be silly or something. I defeathed the Worm boss in the Sun temple, and am trying to get to the 2nd memory. But there is no way i can get up there, its impossible!!
Do i need to adjust the water level somehow? I am clearly missing something obvious....

You must jump using the cogs as stepping stones.  The timing is tricky.  Also you may not have noticed, but you need to start jumping from the lower cogs in the room the left of the higher-up cogs.  (Though this is not technically true, it is much harder to start from the right-most room)

I have found the cog, but when i turn it, the water lever drops even further. how can i make the water rise?

Not what I meant.  There are spinning cogs in the upper rooms.  The rooms WITHOUT water.  You have to use the spinning cogs as platforms to jump higher.

you can use nature form briar jumping in the right side room to get onto the cogs but it's a bit finicky. otherwise jump from the left side cogs and just don't fall off once you get to the next room    the don't fall off part is pretty important btw. without cracking the game open I don't think it has anything to do with water level up there
