Xiagan, you know that in about every program more advanced than notepad that you can search en replace, right? usually brought up by pressing ctrl +f
That way you can replace every ä, ö, ü and ß with a simple click. I think it's harder the other way around though.

And Stalfos, I bet that in a million years .txt files are still supported... if we still live by then. =p

It is no big deal for the German translation (which is finished, btw), because all our specials ä,ö,ü,ß are replacable through ae, oe, ue, ss. It still be nice, though.

I haven't posted the German subs yet because atm the symbols are used and I haven't bothered to replace them.
If sombody from Germany wants to have them, just tell me and I'll post'em. :)

Yeah, yeah, gimme, gimme !  ^-^
That would be great and i would be very very thankful if you could post it.

I'm not stupid Alpha, of course I know that. There are even proggies out there which can replace letters in all the files AT ONCE, so you don't have to do it ~130 times. Awesome, eh?

@Miori: Will try to upload it sunday. Stringbank isn't done yet, but the subs are finished. :)

Stringbank is pretty much all the names of objects, descriptions and more, subtitles are only for the times that Naija speaks or with a cutscene, stringbank's the rest.

And Xia, you just replied to a month old post, lol.
Also:

Learn to read. =p
I was also just trying to help, so no hostility needed.

Your post failed to explain that you meant to say that you can replace the letters in more than one file at once, so no hostility needed. Which brings me to declare that there was a bit sarcasm but no hostility in my post. :)

Which brings me to declare ...
WAR!...
...
Oh... I thought... sorry! :D

On another subject, I see that Unicode integration is a pain... I dunno if it's doable, but we could display "images" instead of the actual foreign characters... The acute characters in the subs would be, let's say for example, url-encoded (é) and upon reading that, the game would place a small "é" image...

I know, it's also a pain to integrate...

Displaying Fan subtitles is in the actual version no problem at all. The problem is to show letters like Ä Ö Ü ß Æ É Ê and all the other special ones some of our languages have...

Where is the guide?
I should have missed some threads.

Just replace the original files in C:\games\Aquaria\scripts\vox with the translated ones.

Summing up to translate the game in another language:

Use the last version of Aquaria (1.1.1) and
replace the original files in C:\games\Aquaria\scripts\vox with the translated ones.
replace stringbank.txt file in C:\games\Aquaria\data with the translated one.

Right?

Regarding the stringbank.txt file I noticed that other versions have more lines than the file posted in the first page.
for example applying the french version patch (http://www.bit-blot.com/forum/index.php?topic=1433.0) the file has 183 lines rather than 153. Why? Is there a more updated official version?

To have a completed translation of the game (like I saw in the french version), I noticed that you have to translate some images in C:\games\Aquaria\gfx.
Can you tell me which ones are to modify and what is the easiest way to do it?

Thanks!

Here are the complete subs for doing a fan translation if you're interested:

http://bit-blot.com/scrap/subs.zip

Here's the string bank:

http://bit-blot.com/scrap/stringbank.zip

Please post a link here to your translations when you're done. I'll add support for replacing the subs in the next patch.
Hi! Here follows the link to my own translation of Aquaria into Italian      http://www.megaupload.com/?d=843FXKPS
When you'll create the patch with my translation, i would wish you'll write "Translation by jakelr from rapidscene.altervista.org group". See you soon!!!

Hi jakelr79,
do you know if a new italian version is still in progress?
If you need help, I am happy to help.
Thanks!
