Spolier: Need Help w/boss Energy Temple

I must be totally lame; I just can't figure out how to defeat the boss at the end of the energy temple. Please help.

Have you worked out how to do him damage? It's got to do with the pearl. If you just want the complete spoiler look at the boss strategies thread, here.
