Stuck after the Cathedral (Sun Temple, etc.)

First off I want to congratulate with you guys for making such a great and fun game. These have been the best 30 bucks I've ever spent in quite a long time.

Second off, I need anybody's assistance to go on with the adventure. I recently completed the Cathedral, and I decided to go straight for the Sun Temple.. I visited the Veil, I met Li (and got his song, although I don't get if I am supposed to use his helmet as well, it's there in the cavern) and now I am at the Sun Temple... stuck. I've read in an other thread that I have to play around with the water level mechanism and a stone that is located north-east, the problem is that even if I bind that stone it won't follow me and it will just keep sliding horizontally from a side to the other of the room. Is there anything else I'm supposed to do? Or did by any chance decided to visit this temple too early and maybe I'm supposed to get explore somewhere else and gain new powers in other to advance within the Sun Temple (so far I only have Energy and Beast form)?

No, you're doing well. You've just got to have patience; raising the water level just once isn't enough. The stone is supposed to stay on the water surface

Hmm... well I don't know... I mean, all I can do is alter the water level by spinning around the mechanism, and cast bind on that stone (as said all I have is Energy Form and Beast form, and the Bind/Li/Shield songs). I tried lower the water level and I managed to climb up I can't get to the stone room without any water...

Where exactly do I find Li and where do I get this new song? I'm kinda stuck there, too.
Don't know what to do next. Although I don't see any possibilitie yet to change the water level.

hmm i did it way randomly

after going into the sun temple i went back out and explored the area to the right where you can wall jump to the top where there is a rukh bird

from there i cactus launched myself in dryad form to the upper portion of the sun temple

i then cactus launched myself into the bubble of water up the top , getting the memory and then going into the temple via that entrance

I swum around for a few minutes as far as I could, when I finally figured that the rock thing on there was the thing that didn't fit in. I immediatly thought then of taking it with me, as I first thought it was the background, then I quickly noticed what I exactly had to do.
It's how I solve most puzzles, look what's different in the picture when you can't continue and try alot of things with the thing that doesn't fit in, figuring out what to do with it.

Also, how in the world do you cactus launch yourself?

Well, I managed the puzzle with the stone, and now I swim with it with the bind song. I discovered its purpose, but there is a sun door blocking the way.

I only have the beast and energy form, and only the bind /shield song. Do I need to find Li (I see a lot of people referencing to him) before beeing able to go further on the level ?

No, the door is there to make sure that you do the stone puzzle rather than guessing your way through the dark. It can only be solved if you can _see_ the door...
I forget whether you have to right click it or bump into it or what, but eventually it makes itself pretty obvious how to open it.

I'm going to try different stuff... I already tried to swim against, but it doesn't open. I fired also on it, but it doesn't help. And I tried to charge my fire and release but still nothing do... I yet have to try to rush into it with beast form and natural form... I'll try it when I come back from work.

I don't think that Li is needed but I had him and I don't remember any door that stopped me from going through... You do need him for later in the game, so there is no harm done if you get him right now to test it He is not that far away from sun temple...
If you leave the sun temple now, the crystal will appear at the entrance when you go back, so you don't have to do this puzzle again.

I have past the sun Temple
the  stone that is located north-east means nothing,
you shall remember the mini map first ,and swim though the darkness in the level mechanism room,head down and  left ,then you will see the light,head up you'll see the next mechanism.

but where is Li?

Li is in the veil, not in the sun temple.
And most people don't swim through the dark, they use this "stone that is located north-east" as a light.

what should I do next?
I can't lower the water level any further
