The last two special bulbs I got where from shooting a seadragon (which most of the time drops three leaves) and from a colour bud in a passage which is bordered by hot Steam. (south kelp forest/open waters?)

can anybody confirm whether the yellow jellyfish in The Veil (not the Ice Veil) actually drop spicy meat 'like candy'? I'm not saying they don't drop spicy meat, its just not as often as it says.

It's possible the drop rates were changed or it's just some wierd bad streak I'm having, but I've visited the west side of the Veil which is where they mainly are, and have only had one or two spicy meat drops.

I've found another place that works well for spicy meat, in the first part of the cathendral, those flying red things drop them almost all the time, also those things that shoot the purple homing darts at you sometimes drop glowing eggs.

I don't find they drop that often, 1 out of 3 seems to drop spicey meat. Mithalas is a good ingredient run I find. I go in and immediatly bind that tadpole to my face ( which looks dashing ) and then go up to get leaves. back and forth like previously mentioned by fieari until you've built up your leaf rolls, veggie soups, veggie cakes and special cakes. that adds up to a lot of leafs! I can't remember where it was mentioned here but I also use the plant bulb in veggie soup.  after that it's back and forth between the rainbow mushroom room and the cathedral to get glowing eggs and spicey meat from the diagonal purple shooting fish and the red fish that 'drops' bombs. is there a list of names for all of the creatures in the game?

the Kelp forest is my favourite spot to get eggs and eyeballs, a quick loop through the turtle bus stop map gets me mostly stocked and then a few trips back and forth in home waters which is inevitable seems to fill me up.  there's something else that has been dropping eggs in infrequent amounts, but can't remember atm.

the leaf spots mentioned are all great: the Mithalis hatch door ( first time I saw them thought 'LOST' so now they are always hatches ), the fiery seahorse, the home water hatch cave with seed bag, but also if you are in the area that little nymph cave where you got the seed bag has a silly amount of leaves. I've only gone back through there a couple of times, looking for treasures, but it's there and lotsa leaves!

I'm always low on tentacles, are octopus and the occasional squid the only spot for those? it was desparing to battle the Octopus Prime boss and see all those tentacles beside his beak sitting out of range... despite that I still racked up about 5 tentacles!

the turtles in the turtle cave don't drop any turtle meat for me, only those turtles where you pop their shells off and they take off. am I missing something here? down to my last turtle soup  :'(

one thing I try and do is have 7/8 of cooked items in case I pull a ( jelly ) poultice or a tough cake is dropped. then I don't have to mourn it's loss into the 8/8 ceiling (  I still pick them up out of principal sometimes tho  ;) )

That's too bad, because you can make lots of though cakes (octopuses drop the most rubbery meat), which imho are one of the best meals available in the game (+2 heal, +2defense for 15 seconds). I used mostly only them and I'm happy. Yeah, you can get tentacles only from squids and octopuses. I just remember something that also dropped tentacles, but I'm not sure about this - maybe it's just my memory playing tricks on me  :P

tough cakes are my fave too, then probably tasty cakes. I like to keep a larder of 8 cakes, tough cakes and rubbery meat at any time hehe.

there's another very useful spot to get oil in the sunken city: there is a box halfway through the map on the right hand side that has 3 oil in. between the leaf box and this box you can restock up on some supplies!

Yeah. When i went out of supplies, I just run out from room to room collecting stuff again  :D There are five or six boxes. The last is somewhere near the entrance to the depper parts of sunken city, but the way to it is blocked by an obstacle (maybe it's just a groovy looking tile after all :D).

One drops oil, second mushrooms, another leaves, and the last one spicy meat. I don't remember about the box in the passage way to the deeper parts of ruins, but there were propably leaves to.

Turtle Meat
- Simply go into the Turtle Cave in The Veil and go wild in energy form. Easy meat.

can someone confirm whether this is true or not? I went back there to try for the Ruhk egg Karn also mentioned:

In the turtle cave, at the bubble jumping area where you get the urchin armor. If you use a Speed+2 food and beast form to jump from that highest bubble up and to the right, you can find another Ruhk... But it's totally not worth it, so much easier to get the one I mentioned.

which the first attempt I tried I used up 16 soup and stepped away from the bubbles. the second time it took 2 tries, I saved just before with a full larder and so I think that distraction of windling food supplies wasn't a factor. the other Ruhk egg is definitly easier to get!  but with the turtles, they occasionally leave an energy but the only turtle meat I've come across are those turtles you pull the shell off, looking straight down on them, not sideways like these. I got the one turtle soup left that I'm keeping for magpie reasons and nosh on crabcakes for defense now.

right! I came across those the first time through but spaced. stocked up before I couldn't anymore, ty  :D

I never shot turtles (thank you, Greenpeace/WWF), but there are many easier ways to get defend-increasing food, so it wasn't necessary to focus on turtles...

Though Cakes! Just shot squids, octopuses, and even nautilus and get rubbery meat. This + sea cake = though cake. The best cake evah  :D

I've since gone totally off turtles. do the math: hearty soup + turtle = turtle soup. turtle soup is just defense minus the speed, you're not supposed to eat turtles, it's a sin! wish I could make a monkey loaf or a parrot poultice tho  :(

Yea I don't even like the effect of Turtle Soup.  Tough cakes (IT'S SPELLED TOUGH DAMMIT!  NOT THOUGH!) are far more efficient as they give healing + defense.  Of course the super-foods are obviously better than these.  I'm more of a fan of veggie cakes and borscht myself.  Those super-soups give such awesome bonuses.  Almost a full heal and extra power to boot.

This...game...ROCKS!

Yeah, love the hot and cold borscht too ( too bad there aren't enough ingredients to make alot, but there is a creature that drops them), and sometime I got invincible after eating 4 or more Tough cakes, was really weird. O_o

You've seen cold borscht drop?  Where?  That's the only one I'm missing...

It's the same as Hot Borscht, only with cold soup then. =p

So that's: Cold Soup + Red Berry + Red Bulb

I hope you still have a Red Bulb... those are hard to get.
