This is something I wanted to do for a looong time. There is this broken submarine in Aquaria, and I was always thinking : "It would be so cool if we were able to repair and use it !"

So I took a break from Magic of Aquaria to do it, and here it is !

Angry Li is a Shoot'em Up game. The camera moves automatically to the right and you have to kill all what you see. The goal is to reach the end of the map alive !

Story : This is after the end of Aquaria, after Naija mysteriously disappeard, Li just discovered she has been emprisoned in a crystal somewhere by Mia. Now he is really angry and comes to rescue her, even if it means destroy half of Aquaria !

Due to lack of time, there is only one map and few weapons for now. Also there is no ending yet. I don't plan to add more content for now, as I have to work on an other mod

This is still a beta, please report all problems you might have.

I recorded the start of the mod, it gives a good overview I think. I was lucky, I was not hit once ! So you can see all the different weapon upgrades. (you loose one level of weapon upgrade when you are hit)

When I read the topic I thought you made a mod that made the in-game Li angry, for whatever reason.

I think the Li in Aquaria is really angry/despaired/crazy at the end of Aquaria after his wife did not came back home for days, with the baby crying not knowing what happened, not knowing what to do ...

Really awful ending, you don't need a reason to make Li angry after he discovers the truth.

This looks really fun. An Aquaria shmup! I will have to wait until school is done before I try it, though. Or at least until classes are over.

Please give me some feedback I need to know if the difficulty is ok.

I played it so much to test everything that for me it is really easy to complete. I think it offers a good level of challenge, but I don't want it to be frustrating.

This is great.  I like the way it works and the weapons alot.  It took a few tries but wasn't too hard to finish so it seems a  good level of difficulty.  I'm hoping there's more to come?  Maybe if you want to take it even further you could make Li be able to shoot backwards or face the other way.  Anyway, this is awesome and I want to take a look into the script and play around with it a bit.

I would love to continue developing this mod, but at the moment I am developing an other one with Sindhi, Magic of Aquaria, and I told her I would not spend too much time on this

Here are some things I had in mind for Angry Li :

- Being able to drop exploding mines while holding the right button.
- Being able to fire a laser ! (super attack)
- Additional secondary attacks.
- Show the submarine "health" bar on screen
- Add checkpoints where all the structure points would be restored
- More maps with the other Aquaria environments and creatures
- Rocks falling from the top that you have to avoid
- Walls that you have to destroy in order to pass
- Giant creatures. (take existing creatures and scale them bigger and change the color)
- Mia boss.
- Being able to free Naija at the end.

That would take me months to do, so this will wait ...

But if someone wants to take the mod and expand it further it would be awesome. New maps with creatures are easy to do, and for the scripting I would give a hand

For now there is an additional map you can play with, enter the editor with tab, and load the map "lisub0", this is the map I used for development. (mm... seems the weapons are not active, you have to play the main map until you get shock, and then you can use weapons)

Well this a pretty competent shmup.  Never really imagined the Aquaria world being used for something like this.  But it's a neat concept and I like the weapon upgrades.  Could only be improved by mines and lazers I say.

Haha, same for me, I never played a shmup before, never really liked that types of games, but I loved doing this.

It was cool to make a mod that completely changes the gameplay and offers something different in the Aquaria world ... and provides more FIRE POWER
