I'm gonna be pulling the original video down since this one is so similar, and I wasn't satisfied with the visual quality of the original anyways (The settings I was using seemed to work well for 3D games, but not so much on 2D evidentially.)
Did you actually test this hypothesis?
I haven't, a friend of mine used the same settings and did though. It looked better quality-wise as apposed to my Aquaria video. I assume it's just more difficult to see the difference with 3D stuff when it's down-encoded because there's so much more going on, not sure though.
And to Alpha, no there were no tool assists, just a lot of retries (I mean a LOT. Once I got started I got a little obsessed, especially in situations where I almost made it, I ate up about 10 hhours before I finally got through untouched, and there's still some close calls, some of which look pretty spiffy.). XD
Anyways the video got up, but there's something seriously wrong with the way Youtube re-encoded it, I dunno what happened but I'm gonna have to pull it and re-upload. :< I work today so you probably won't be able to see it until tomorrow now, maybe later if I can't figure out what went wrong.
Update: Rencoded in time to start the upload again before I headed out to work. :D. Gonna take about 9 hours though. I did discover I used the wrong setting in one of the options, which may have cause the insane artifacting glitch the uploaded video had (The raw video on my hard drive is flawless). But we'll see tonight.
Update 2: Hrm, didn't work.. Will do more testin' and post again when it actually works. XD
Update 3: Alrighty, it worked. :D It's processed and running, waiting for it to convert to HD version before posting though. Expect the link in an hour or so. :3
