X Operations - It doesn't look as good as half life 2 but I thought this game had a goofy childish appeal going for it. Instead of one long narrative you play it one little mission at a time and the themes are all over the place.  My favorite one involved using a Rambo type machine gun to escape from an underground tunnel full of zombies.

First of all, im new here, so i greet all of you \o Aquaria looks like its going to be something phenomenal. But enough o' me babbling, ill get to this messages point.

Zombies, who doesnt like them? Or atleast like chopping or blowing them to pieces? As we all know, zombie games are usually structured with a hero who is armed from toe to teeth, and pitted against hordes of zombies and other monstrosities. Survival crisis Z is just that, minus the armed from toe to teeth detail. You will have to do missions either to the SWAT, the rebels, or stay neutral and help the average joe's out to get your cash. With the dough, you can buy new gear and ammunition to your weapons. Eating and sleeping is not must, but highly recommended, as fatigue can make you hallucinate, and thats not good when fending off a pack of zombies.

The atmosphere in the game is just amazingly well done, you will be filling your pants in some of the abandoned underground compounds. Zombies (and zombie dogs) jump through windows, puke blood (and worms, which will suck your blood for a while if they attach), turn survivors into more zombies etc. It is truly a horrifying feeling when your companion starts to complain that he is not feeling well in a dark place.

The graphics might turn some of you down, but screenshots really dont do honor to this great game. I seriously suggest you try.

Flow is amazing.  I played the hell out of that for like 3 days straight.  Survival Crisis Z is also quite good fun.  Unfortunately, as of right now I really don't have anything to add to this thread.  Well... how about Alien Shooter?  If you like Crimsonland, you can't help but love AS.  Worst name ever, but a really, really fun game.  The sequel isn't quite out yet, and not yet available for download either, but apparently it will be in the relatively near future.




Oddly enough, no screenshots of the sequel have enemies in them.  Just huge piles of goop after they've all been slaughtered.  =)

Oh yes... i must shed some light to maybe the best indie adventure game series ever.

Most of the games are centered on a cat burglar named trilby, a gentleman thief, who gets oddly imprisoned in a manor in 5 Days A Stranger. The story continues in 7 Days a sceptic, that puts you in the shoes of michael, a psychiatrist of a scout ship, 198 years in the future from 5DAS. The next two games, Trilby's Notes and 6 Days a sacrifice happen in the present time.

A word of warning, some stuff in these games are not suitable for the faint of heart.

If you count abandonware, there are plenty of things. If you want something which is free but can't exactly enjoy the couple of extra features of registering, or you're gonna pirate it later, I recommend Flatspace or Flatspace II. They're at http://www.lostinflatspace.com.

I did some hacking of the game myself, now I got a 16 tonne ship using a 240 tonne weapon. It can take down spacestations, even, which is a fave pasttime.

I was going to ask a shadow moth to help me repair my hyperdrive (Which was damaged in a collision with an asteroid), but accidentally pressed the wrong button, and ended up on the choice: Request the captain to drop all cargo.

Well, obviously the captain was not happy with that, and started blasting away. I did get him after a lengthy match, but the joy was brief, as it seemed he had called for friends. You may guess the rest

By the way, if you like games like flatspace, Weird Worlds: return to infinite space might be your cup of tea. Though it has a more humoristic take on things, it is still a very enjoyable game.

Knytt is a very atmospheric game, where I think the developers intention was to make a game after he had composed the music, or it was this one:

More of a game if you will than Knytt, you play a bouncing ball and explore a world, getting new balls with different abilities as you progress. Really great game, with some cool physics. I'm not going to ruin what kind of balls you're going to get though, but it's all quite clever, and it has some Superb level design, without getting complicated.(just smart)

I just got hooked on Within A Deep Forest and played it to the end in one sitting. I recommend it.

A game I quite like to play every once in a while: Soldat (www.soldat.pl)

Soldat is a unique side-view multiplayer action game. It takes the best from games like Liero, Worms, Quake and Counter-Strike and gives you fast action gameplay with tons of fun. Soldiers fight against each other on 2D battle arenas using a deadly military arsenal. This is what multiplayer was invented for.

Okay, I've recently become enslaved to this game. You've probably all seen it before, but I thought I'd bring it to attention.

Story:

The eyes of mankind have decided to leave their hosts and take over the earth. Their first move was to escape to the moon, where they developed their hostile weapon technology. Ten years later they return and forcefully take over some prominent countries in Asia. Thailand and New Korea has both succumb to the hostile threat, while China insists on dealing with the eyes themselves and refuses any helping hands from around the world.

America sends a pair of pilot twins with extroardinary sixth senses to battle against the evil eyes. They both have designed their own space ships that seems to be about the only thing in existance that can be used to battle these terrible fiends.

Great! More people need to try out Within a Deep Forest. Have you played his latest game, Knytt? Don't know if you'll like it as it is less about precise platforming than WADF is. It does have some great atmospheric scenes helped by the sporadic music.
