Hey everyone. I just remembered about a cool story regarding Aquaria that my father told me. I should have posted this sooner, but I had forgotten about it. Here goes:
My father works at a Bank. Needless to say, he's old and boring. None the less, I told him about how great a game Aquaria is going to be, considering its (at the time recent) grand prize win at the IGF. I honestly didn't even think my dad was listening, but he took in the information and mentioned it at work to another colleague. Another employee at the bank had also heard of Aquaria. Turns out her two boys have been talking about Aquaria too. The children, in turn, learned about the game from one of their school teachers.
And that's pretty much the story. I promise it's true and I guess it's not so hard to believe since it's boring and all.
The interesting thing about this though is how you got to really start to wonder... how many people are talking about Aquaria? Once the marketing starts, this has potential to have big sales! All the way from bankers to teachers to school children, everyone will be wanting Aquaria.
PS - I'm really surprised that my father would talk about video games at work. I have never seen him play a video game in my life. I would think his co-worker probably started the conversation some how...
