Frustrating... and pretty uninteresting IMO. I expected a place like the sun temple to have a more interesting boss than that, also it was no challenge in figuring out how to beat it.

The sun worm is one of the few bosses where you just have to shoot and evade, no puzzle element anywhere. I don't see how that makes it the worst boss.
God sees and knows everything, but at least he won't gossip about it.

Who said it was the worst boss?  I don't see that statement anywhere.  Just that he's frustrating, lacking a puzzle element, and I'm eager not to fight something similar.

He's the most frustrating because he is the only boss where careful thought and legitimate tactics STILL doesn't guarantee you victory.  He's fast, fills the room with bullets, and the walls are lined with spikes (he'd be ok if not for this).  Some bosses have an obvious pattern that, with practice, can be beaten 100% of the time.  But the Worm will rend your mind from your body and wail on it with a spiritual stick.

Wow, by the size of the worm relative to the map, it looks like his as big than the last for that DID make it into the game. Thank God, this worm character never made it... He looks so creepy..... :o

Just out of curiosity, what exactly is a nitpicking jack?

Let's just say I said "jack" instead of adding an other 3 letter word to it to keep it tidy.

Secondly, Sun worm HAS strategy, like attaching yourself to a wall and using nature form with the spikes and briars.

And the worm is indeed pretty damn huge, hadn't noticed that yet.

Ok, I thought it could be cool is someone brings this boss to life (still wondering why nobody has done this before), so here it is !

The boss is already available in the entities list, with the script and all, but it is not functional. I used the screen-shot provided by BMcC to set the nodes (have been very helpful), had to modify the script a bit (basically uncomment things), and it worked very nicely, wonder why they did not include it in Aquaria.

Some changes :

- Made the head closer to the body.
- Added jaw animation
- Increased life of every segments
- Decreased power of the shots
- Fixed the death scene
- Sound added (picked from Aquaria)

The boss moves in circles, sometimes changing path. You just have to shoot the heads until they flip (dead). When every segment is dead, the boss dies, so as you can see it is not very hard of frustrating like the sun worm, but still fun. Even with increased life, he dies really fast.

It will be included in the mod we are currently developing, Magic of Aquaria :)

Very cool, Yogoda. One quibble - the jaw hinges farther forward (seems to hinge on the eye) in BMCC's version of the boss. I had it wrong when I pieced it together using GIMP. Also, the tail segment seems to be falling off.  ;)

That's impressive.  I think the tail is all right actually, as it doesn't have the same kind of interlocking shell the other segments have.

I hope you'll fix the white outline when actually using this boss, it'd be very neat to see this working in the game, I bet even Alec would be amazed.

ok, removed the white outline and moved the jaw. The tail looks fine how it is (doesn't look like the screenshot in game)

Thanks a lot for your feedback  :)

Damn you modders with your modding skills, you make our not-modding skills look like dirt  :P

Wow, that thing actually looks like a pretty fun boss. I certainly would prefer fighting it over the sun worm.
