You know, it gets dark and then i'm supposed to use sun form. But nothing happens when shift - am i suppose to do something special WITH the sun form?

Charging the sun form takes pretty long, and if it's right it'll make this small 'ding' sound once you've charged, seeing you can't see anything, you must listen, or just swim to the exit and then use sun form.

I know that for some reason the normal lighting of the sun form doesn't work in there, only when you charge everything, or go back out and back in.

It does work Alpha, but the ink blinds you and with so many octopi then you are going to be blind almost all of the time. spoiler So it's best finding the closest point to his mouth where OP can't grab you and just keep firing at it's mouth, and from time to time shoot up to the ceiling to recharge.

Actually, Silver, no, it doesn't normally work in there, here's a picture for proof.
Mind you that I only made the head of the sun form visible as once again I was stupid enough to not disable my own graphics mod.

As you can see, there is no bright ring around Naija, as so, this proofs it doesn't work, you can only brighten the place with the charge of the sun form.

Though, yes, the charging takes just as long as Energy form, though I believe not as long as nature form, but I might be mistaken on that too. I'm certain there was something that took less time.

I like to have dual form charged up when I go in there, so I could scream without the need of charging up when things get messy.

You don't have to but it helps.

The frozen Veil 'crab' is a mantis.

And well, you need nature and bind for the mantis, nothing else, so dual form isn't needed.

On the big jellyfish however... I don't know, never tried that thing with Dual Form.
I guess you could shoot the evil jellyfish with the Li form and then use Naija's scream to kill the big jellyfish, I just don't know how many charges it takes.

I mainly use it when the small jellies swarm me. Really helps clearing them out.

Keep trying until you get an easy song. At my last playthrough I got right right right left left left up up.
